Project Manager – Major Projects (Energy & Utilities) 📍 Location: Bromsgrove | 💼 Full-Time | 🌐 Mitie Job Objectives & Responsibilities As a Project Manager, you will deliver projects within the Major Projects (MP) portfolio, overseeing the construction, installation, and commissioning of new electricity contestable connections up to 132kV, along with associated Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) infrastructure. Reporting to the Programme Managers, you will ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to client specifications. You will liaise with technical staff, DNOs, iDNOs, and subcontractors while monitoring project performance, costs, and compliance. Working closely with Delivery Managers, you will be accountable for client satisfaction and successful project outcomes. Main Duties • Deliver end-to-end project management, ensuring scope, budget, and client expectations are consistently met., • Manage a portfolio of projects and maintain accurate internal/external reporting., • Collaborate with Business Development, Tendering, and Design teams to ensure designs align with client requirements., • Engage clients for design feedback and approval submissions., • Coordinate all project stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and local authorities, ensuring smooth delivery., • Plan programmes of work with key client contacts, establishing milestones and deliverables., • Monitor financial control, including variations, and keep accurate budget records., • Procure labour, subcontractors, materials, and equipment within budget., • Prepare detailed work instructions and ensure installation teams are fully briefed., • Conduct audits on site activities and suppliers, raising and mitigating non-conformances., • Ensure compliance with NRSWA, HAUC, DNO, and IDNO specifications., • Undertake final quality audits and submit accurate documentation for client/DNO approval., • Promote and enforce a culture of Health, Safety & Quality across all project activities., • Represent the company professionally as a Rock ambassador, supporting repeat business opportunities., • Provide photographs and documentation for case studies and client satisfaction reviews., • Drive continuous improvement in project delivery processes. Education & Certifications • Project Management qualification – Essential, • HNC in a related discipline – Desirable, • SSSTS or SMSTS – Desirable, • Certificate of competency for DNOs, Electrician, or Electrical Fitter – Desirable, • CSCS Card – Desirable, • Emergency First Aid – Desirable, • NRSWA Supervisor – Desirable, • Full UK Driving Licence – Essential Skills & Experience • Proven experience as a Project Manager within HV/LV installations – Essential, • Strong knowledge of contestable connections up to 132kV – Essential, • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to forward plan – Essential, • Confident decision-maker, capable of working under pressure – Essential, • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively at all levels – Essential, • Skilled in commercial contract awareness and financial control – Essential, • Proficient in Microsoft Project and MS Office Suite – Essential, • Ability to coordinate site activities and ensure safety for all personnel – Essential Health & Safety Responsibilities • Always follow company and Group H&S policies and procedures., • Use all equipment and PPE correctly and in accordance with training., • Report deficiencies, hazards, or risks promptly., • Highlight training needs or issues via the correct reporting system.
