We are seeking a skilled Utility Surveyor to join our growing team. This role involves the detection, mapping, and reporting of underground utilities in accordance with PAS 128 standards, supporting a range of infrastructure and construction projects across the UK. Principal Role & Responsibilities Field Surveying • Locate and map underground utilities using a variety of geophysical tools: electromagnetic detection, GPR (single antenna, dual frequency, HD arrays), and magnetics., • Conduct surveys using GPS and total stations., • Identify buried infrastructure and potential subsurface hazards such as reinforced concrete and unknown obstructions., • Cross-reference findings with utility records and existing plans. Reporting & Documentation • Prepare clear, accurate technical drawings and survey reports using AutoCAD, Geolitix, and Microsoft Office., • Record utility data in line with PAS 128, including depth, location, service type, and confidence rating., • Maintain robust project documentation including QA checklists, verification logs, and field notes. Health, Safety & Compliance • Develop and implement site-specific RAMS in collaboration with the compliance team., • Promote safe working practices, identifying hazards and ensuring adherence to company H&S standards. Client Liaison • Advise clients and contractors on potential utility conflicts and excavation risks., • Attend project meetings and present findings when required. Travel • Travel to sites across the UK with occasional overnight stays. About You Essential • Minimum 1 year’s experience delivering PAS 128-compliant utility surveys using GPR and electromagnetic detection., • Proficient in AutoCAD (or equivalent CAD software)., • Experience in post-processing and utility data interpretation., • Full UK manual driving licence. Desirable • Degree in a relevant subject., • QCF Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in utility mapping., • Familiarity with additional geophysical methods., • Understanding of BIM and digital integration processes.
