The Role Due to continued successful growth, we have an excellent opportunity to join our Fortem team working permanently with Cambridge Housing Society as a Floor Layer. The Floor Layer will be responsible for carrying out Flooring maintenance, ensuring all work is undertaken to a high standard with the minimum of Supervision. It is essential as a Floorer you are able to lay vinyl flooring, have cap and cove experience and knowledge of wet rooms. The Social Housing Properties patch is throughout Cambridgeshire so travel is essential. You will take ownership of work, aiming for 'First time Fix' on all jobs whilst remaining within budget and time parameters. You will also operate within company Health and Safety guidelines and remain up to date with technical and legal requirements of your skill areas. Core Hours are Monday-Friday start on site at 8.00am-4.30pm and comes with Company Van & Fuel card and excellent benefits package! The Customer Our contract with Cambridge Housing Society is brand new and launching on April 1st. This will be a long term partnership with houses covering the whole of Cambridgeshire, from Wisbech down to Haverhill, although primarily situated in central Cambridge. There are nearly 3,000 properties, mostly houses and flats, and we will be looking after their Repairs, Voids, Cyclical Works and Planned workstreams. Duties & Responsibilities The Floor Layer responsibilities will include: * Carry out flooring maintenance and installation tasks to a high standard with minimal supervision. * Lay vinyl flooring accurately and efficiently across various property types. * Apply cap and cove techniques, particularly in wet rooms, ensuring compliance with specifications. * Take full ownership of each job, aiming for a first-time fix wherever possible. * Work within agreed timeframes and budget constraints while maintaining quality. * Follow all company Health and Safety procedures and guidelines at all times. * Stay up to date with technical standards and legal requirements relevant to flooring work. * Maintain a professional and respectful approach when working in tenants' homes. Other multi skills desirable, such as Plumbing, Carpentry and Tiling.
