Flexible hospitality hours including evenings, weekends and operational cover as required JOB OVERVIEW This is an exciting opportunity for a Restaurant Manager / Kitchen Manager who enjoys being part of the action and wants to put genuine care into the food, people and customer experience rather than simply following a corporate formula. Based primarily at the main Swansea venue, the Restaurant Manager / Kitchen Manager will lead busy shifts, make and oversee pizzas, coach colleagues and protect the standards that give an independent food business its personality. The focus is on freshly prepared food, consistent quality and teams who understand why the details matter. There is also scope for the Restaurant Manager / Kitchen Manager to influence standards across additional South Wales kitchens, supporting quality, training, rotas, food safety and communication between locations. It is an opportunity for someone who takes pride in great pizza and warm hospitality and wants their contribution to be noticed. DUTIES Your duties as the Restaurant Manager / Kitchen Manager include: Lead Busy Shifts: Coordinate people and priorities, delegate clearly, keep service calm and organised and provide practical support where needed Craft and Protect Food Quality: Prepare pizzas to agreed recipes, portion and presentation standards and oversee consistent preparation across the wider food and drink offer Maintain Multi-Site Standards: Support additional kitchen locations through regular communication, visits, checks and practical guidance Develop Confident Teams: Train and coach colleagues in pizza preparation, kitchen practices, food safety, recipes and service standards Manage Rotas and Cover: Support staffing plans, coordinate absence and holiday cover and flag emerging recruitment or capacity needs Lead Food Safety and Hygiene: Maintain HACCP-based procedures, allergen controls, temperature checks, traceability, cleaning schedules and corrective actions Control Stock and Waste: Monitor stock, rotation and equipment while supporting accurate preparation, portion control and sensible cost management Champion the Customer Experience: Lead effective briefings and handovers, respond professionally to feedback and promote warm, individual hospitality CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS ESSENTIAL Strong practical pizza production and food-preparation experience Experience leading people during busy hospitality shifts Sound working knowledge of kitchen hygiene, allergen awareness and safe food handling Ability to train, coach, delegate and hold colleagues accountable while remaining supportive and fair Clear, confident and respectful communication skills Hands-on, organised and calm approach with commercial awareness and a commitment to consistent standards Genuine pride in food quality and delivering a great customer experience Ability to work flexibly across South Wales locations and provide operational cover when reasonably required DESIRABLE Multi-site restaurant, takeaway, bakery, café or production-kitchen experience Level 3 Food Safety in Catering and HACCP training Supervisor or manager-development training Experience producing shift reports, audit records or action plans Experience supporting menu launches or operational improvement Full UK driving licence and access to suitable transport HOW TO APPLY To be considered for this job vacancy, please submit your CV to our Recruitment Team who will review your details.
