Position Summary: The Mohs Medical Assistant/Surgical Technician plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals undergoing Mohs surgery. This position ensures the maintenance of a safe, efficient, and quality-focused environment by conducting pre‑surgical evaluations, providing patient and family education, assisting with surgical procedures, managing patient flow, and maintaining meticulous patient records in both electronic and physical formats. • Conduct initial assessments and review health survey data to develop comprehensive care plans tailored to patient needs., • Provide detailed pre‑operative and post‑operative education to patients and their families, ensuring understanding and compliance with care instructions., • Prepare the surgical area by organizing necessary instruments, equipment, and anesthesia., • Assist the surgeon during procedures, including scrubbing in, handing instruments, cutting sutures, and maintaining a sterile operative field., • Ensure the surgical environment remains clean, organized, and compliant with established protocols., • Administer anesthesia under the direct supervision of the physician, ensuring accurate dosages and adherence to proper techniques., • Accurately document all aspects of patient care, including detailed notes for each Mohs procedure within the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system., • Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of follow‑up communications and post‑operative instructions., • Implement practices that promote excellence in surgical care and patient outcomes., • Maintain a sterile environment by strictly adhering to safety standards and protocols., • Monitor patient safety during procedures and recovery, taking all necessary precautions to ensure their well‑being., • Provide clear, written post‑operative instructions, ensuring patients have access to an effective communication system for follow‑up questions or concerns., • Assist patients with mobility following surgery to ensure safety and prevent falls., • Operate and maintain surgical equipment, including the autoclave, ensuring all instruments are properly sterilized and ready for use., • High School Diploma or GED required., • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a medical assistant or surgical technician; experience in dermatology is highly preferred., • Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems and Microsoft Office applications., • Physical Requirements:, • Occasionally required to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods., • Use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms., • Occasionally required to climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, or crawl., • Occasionally lift, push, pull, or move up to 20 pounds., • Vision Requirements: As set forth in PhyNet Dermatology LLC (External)’s Equal Employment Opportunity policy, we do not discriminate on the basis of any protected group status under any applicable law. #J-18808-Ljbffr
