We welcome applications from all talented individuals with the relevant qualifications, skills, knowledge and experienceJob overviewWe are delighted to advertise a consultant clinical/ counselling psychologist/psychological therapist post for the Children and Young Persons (CYP) Youth Service in the Central Norfolk Locality.The role will be focused on the development of the Complex Emotional Needs Pathway, the assessment and treatment of service users accessing this Pathway, waiting list management, and clinical supervision of staff.The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate Consultant level experience as well as experience working across the age range, psychological therapies for complex emotional needs, and service development.Main duties of the jobThis is an exciting time to join NSFT as the Trust has just completed a restructure and has moved to delivering place-based services across locality areas, linked to other services; the Central locality delivers services to those areas covered by the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital. This role is a key role which has been created to support the Trust’s ongoing transformation.The area includes a mix of urban communities as well as including the University of East Anglia and the Norwich University of the Arts, both of which bring large student communities into the area.The CYP services in Central Norfolk provide specialist mental health interventions to young people up to 25 in the central Norfolk area, as well as providing specialist intervention to Looked After and Adopted Children across Norfolk and Waveney. Currently the CYP services in Norfolk are divided into an under 14 CAMHs Service and a 14-25 Youth Service although plans are progressing to reshape this into an under U18 CAMHS service and a 18 - 25 young adults service.Currently the CYP services in Norfolk and divided into an under 14 CAMHs Service and a 14 – 18 Youth Service, this structure is currently under review. Counselling Psychologist, Psychological Therapist including substantial post-qualification experience within Youth age secondary Mental Health services.- Experience of specialist psychological assessment and treatment of patients across the full range of Service users in community youth services- Experience of developing and delivering therapeutic interventions in various formats, including individual and group.- Experience of working with a wide variety of patient groups across the whole life course and presenting problems which reflect the full range of clinical severity.OtherEssential criteria- Ability to concentrate intensively for substantial periods during patient contact, teaching/supervision sessions, team meetings, preparing written work etc.- Ability to produce high-quality professional results to specified deadlines and other time constraints.- Demonstrably respectful approach to patients, carers, colleagues, other professional contacts. • Willingness to negotiate and ability to handle confrontation effectively and professionallyQualificationsEssential criteria- Professional doctorate in Clinical/ Counselling Psychology or equivalent post graduate qualification Or Training to Master’s Degree Level in a Psychological Therapy and Core mental health profession, nt- Full registration with either: UKCP HCPC & BABCP. RNM, RNLD OT or SW with additional Mental Health qualification- Trained and accredited in a relevant psychological therapy (DBT, MBT, CBT, Systemic Therapy)Desirable criteria- Management experience and training.- Accreditation as a Supervisor for Psychology and/or Psychological TherapySkillsEssential criteria- Highly developed skills in the use of complex methods of psychological assessment, intervention and management including the use of theoretical models to analyse information and to develop formulations upon which to base choice of treatment with particular reference to Youth Mental Health.- Well-developed skills in the effective communication of highly technical and/or clinically sensitive information to a wide variety of recipients in a range of settings within and outside the NHS, including the ability to produce comprehensive and coherent letters, reports and associated documentation. Ability to interpret, report and respond to performance and outcome data at all levels of the Trust.- Highly developed communication skills aimed at overcoming barriers to understanding and acceptance.- Skills in working in multidisciplinary settings.KnowledgeEssential criteria- Good understanding of issues arising in the implementation of working in partnership- Working knowledge of the practices and approaches of other key disciplines, professions and agencies involved in the care and management network, including medical, employment, social, educational and criminal justice systems.- Knowledge of the principles and skills in the implementation of trauma-informed care systems- High level knowledge of research methodology, research design and complex, multivariate data analysis as practised within the clinical fields of psychology.Please be aware that, due to the high number of applications for certain roles, this vacancy may close earlier than the advertised closing date.
