Role Overview Job Title: HR Generalist, Global Ecom Department: People, Global Ecom Reports to: HR Lead, Global Ecom Direct Reports: N/A This is a hands-on HR Generalist role within the Hunter Douglas Global E-Commerce Zone People Team. Operating within a matrix organisation, the Zone People Team supports multiple Business Units across the Global E-Commerce Zone, enabling consistent people delivery while aligning with both Hunter Douglas strategy and zone priorities. The role has a strong focus on coordination, communication, people data management and employee engagement, working in close partnership with BU People Representatives who retain responsibility for local employee relations and payroll. Broad and delivery-focused, the role supports activity across the full people lifecycle and acts as a key enabler of zone people priorities. While not accountable for setting people strategy, it plays a critical role in ensuring people initiatives are well-organised, clearly communicated and executed to a high standard within a fast-paced, matrix environment. Role & Responsibilities Zone Communication & Stakeholder Liaison • Act as the central point of coordination for zone people communications, • Liaise with Business Unit (BU) People teams to gather updates, data and inputs, • Create and distribute clear, engaging and timely communications for varied audiences, • Communicate zone initiatives and encourage awareness and participation Engagement, Events & Initiatives • Support and coordinate zone-wide engagement campaigns and activities, • Contribute ideas and creativity to the design of engagement initiatives, • Help plan and deliver workshops, meetings and events (virtual and in-person), • Manage practical arrangements including scheduling, venues, travel and materials Annual People Cycles & Delivery Support • Provide hands-on support across key people processes, • Collate BU data, manage deadlines and chase updates, • Maintain accurate trackers, spreadsheets and HR systems, • Produce progress updates and summaries for the Zone People Team Systems, Data & Organisation • Maintain accurate people data across HR systems and tools and provide support to BU People teams, • Ensure reporting accuracy, tracking and timely follow-up across the zone, • Support managers and People teams in navigating HR systems and processes Person Profile Desirable Qualifications • CIPD Level 5 (or working towards) Essential Experience • Experience in an HR Generalist, People Operations, internal communications or similar role Essential Skills • Strong Excel capability (formulas, trackers, reporting), • Confident use of PowerPoint to create professional materials, • High accuracy when working with data and systems Soft Skills • Highly organised with strong follow-through and deadline management, • Proactive, curious and comfortable suggesting improvements, • Able to balance creative and operational work, • Confident working in a lean, fast-paced and matrix environment
