Role: Personal Injury & Clinical Negligence Solicitor - Director (x2) \n A Legal 500, Leading national law firm is looking to recruit dedicated and experienced Personal Injury and / or Clinical Negligence Solicitor Director for highly sought permanent position. \n Gemini Recruitment are currently partnering with a large and established law firm. Our client’s accomplishments are acknowledged and recommended in The Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners, as a top tier firm. \n Department Background: \n The Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence Department acts on behalf of individuals who have suffered injury, illness, or loss as a result of accidents, medical negligence, and other incidents where compensation may be recoverable. The department is recognised for its client-focused approach, providing compassionate support while pursuing the best possible outcomes for clients throughout the claims process. \n The team handles a broad range of complex and sensitive matters, including medical negligence claims, surgical errors, delayed or incorrect diagnoses, birth injury claims, road traffic accidents, workplace accidents, public liability claims, serious injury cases, and fatal accident claims. Working closely with clients, medical experts, and other professionals, the department is committed to delivering outstanding legal representation and achieving successful results. \n Duties and responsibilities: \n\n • Report directly to and collaborating with the Board to ensure performance targets are met.\n, • Lead and develop the Personal Injury & Clinical Negligence Department, ensuring the delivery of exceptional legal services and client care.\n, • Manage a complex caseload of high-value Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence matters from inception to conclusion.\n, • Provide supervision, technical guidance, and mentoring to Solicitors, Fee Earners, and support staff within the department.\n, • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, professional standards, and the Firm's policies and procedures.\n, • Drive business development initiatives, build professional relationships, and identify opportunities to expand the department's client base and service offerings.\n, • Monitor departmental performance, productivity, and financial targets, ensuring the achievement of key business objectives.\n, • Oversee litigation strategies, case progression, and risk management across the department.\n, • Maintain excellent client care standards, handling sensitive and complex matters with professionalism and empathy.\n, • Review medical records, expert evidence, schedules of loss, and other key case documentation in high-value or complex matters.\n, • Ensure accurate time recording, billing, and case management practices are maintained across the team.\n, • Represent the Firm at networking events, conferences, and industry forums, enhancing the Firm's profile within the Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence sectors.\n, • Support recruitment, training, performance management, and succession planning within the department.\n, • Undertake such other duties and strategic projects as reasonably required by the Management Board.\n\n Experience and qualifications: \n\n • Qualified Solicitor with a minimum of 5 years' PQE in Personal Injury and/or Clinical Negligence Law, with proven experience managing complex, high-value claims and leading teams to deliver outstanding client service and departmental growth.\n, • Must have a clean, valid Practicing Certificate at the time of application\n, • Proven leadership and supervisory experience, with the ability to develop teams and drive departmental performance.\n, • Strong technical expertise in Personal Injury and/or Clinical Negligence matters, including high-value and complex claims.\n, • Excellent client care skills, with the ability to manage sensitive matters and maintain strong client relationships.\n, • Demonstrable business development and networking experience, with a proven ability to generate new work and enhance the Firm's profile.\n, • Strong commercial awareness, analytical skills, and the ability to contribute to the strategic growth of the department.\n, • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgement, and make effective decisions in a fast-paced environment.\n, • Advocacy experience and experience supervising litigated matters would be advantageous.\n, • Excellent IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management systems.\n\n Benefits: \n\n • Competitive salary package.\n, • Excellent progression opportunities.\n, • Ongoing professional development and training.\n, • Support for relevant legal accreditations and professional recognition.\n, • A supportive and collaborative team environment.\n\n Company culture: \n Gemini Recruitment specialises in connecting exceptional legal professionals with some of the UK's most recognised and respected law firms.
