European Country Manager Salary: £85,000 - £90,000 annum, plus company benefits including discretionary bonus Location: Remote (United Kingdom) Contract: Full Time Permanent Shifts: 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 9am until 5:30pm with 1 hours unpaid lunch break Work model: Remote Williams Lea seeks a European Country Manager to join our team! Williams Lea employees, nearly 7000 people worldwide, who provide efficient business services at client sites in often complex and highly regulated environments, from centralised Williams Lea onshore facilities, and through best cost company offshore locations. Purpose of role To provide operational leadership across France, Germany, Ireland, Spain, Portugal and the UAE, ensuring robust governance, compliance, and alignment with corporate objectives. The Country Manager will act as the key liaison between local teams and central functions (HR, Finance, Legal, and Account Management) to support business growth, risk management, and operational excellence in each market. Overall Aim of the Role • Ensure adherence and compliance with all country legislation and local requirements, • Coordinate central functions to achieve governance and compliance, • Ensure local registrations, licences etc. are up to date and compliant, • Deal with local operational issues in partnership with the Account Management teams and central functions Key Responsibilities Governance & Compliance • Oversee local corporate governance and regulatory compliance across all four jurisdictions., • Ensure adherence to company policies, local labour laws, and all financial and legal obligations., • Serve as the principal local point of contact for internal departments (HR, Finance, Legal, Account Management)., • Foster strong relationships with country-specific account management teams to support client delivery and satisfaction., • Coordinate cross-functional support for local business operations, ensuring efficiency and alignment with group standards., • Provide local insight and support for commercial initiatives, bids, and business development activities., • Partner with HR to oversee employee relations, compliance, and workforce planning., • Ensure consistent application of HR policies across jurisdictions, respecting local employment law., • Collaborate with Finance to ensure accurate financial reporting, budgeting, and cost control for each country., • Support Legal in reviewing and managing local contracts, compliance matters, and risk mitigation., • Monitor operational and financial performance metrics, escalating issues where necessary. Key Competencies • Fluent in French and German to business level, • Highly organised with strong attention to detail, • Commercially astute and solutions oriented., • Culturally adaptable and diplomatic in approach., • Confident communicator with strong influencing skills., • Able to balance strategic priorities with day-to-day operational demands.
