\n Traffic Engineer\n \n Job Description\n Traffic Engineer \n Rochford covering the Essex region (Field based) \n Full time, permanent \n Telent are looking for an addition to the region Traffic Essex Engineering team due to growth and increased demand from our customers. We are looking for an experienced, Traffic Engineer who has a proven track record of maintaining and rectifying faults on Traffic Signals Units / Traffic Lighting Systems. This is a field based role which will see you travel across the West Essex region in all weather conditions. \n Reporting to the Contract Manager, the successful Traffic Signals Maintenance Engineer will be required to carry out maintenance works of Traffic Signals units / Traffic Light systems, detection boxes, Traffic Lights controllers, and get involved in planned maintenance and switch off activities. Additional duties may include the commissioning of Traffic Signals / Traffic Lighting equipment if or when required. \n The successful Traffic Signals Maintenance Engineer will also be required to liaise with the customer(s) on-site, to fault find, troubleshoot, and rectify various issues and problems with Traffic Signals / Traffic Light systems and units. \n The Traffic Signals Maintenance Engineer will need to be flexible to travel across the Essex region. Help build and keep the nation's critical infrastructure connected and protected 24/7. \n What youll do: \n \n • Follow all site specifications and ensure upkeep of quality and accuracy\n, • Demonstrate a strong following of all Health & Safety policies and procedures and be alert in identifying potential hazards by removing or minimising them wherever possible\n, • Apply proven Traffic Signals / Traffic Lighting maintenance experience to assigned works across the Essex region\n, • Work within the standard operating procedure, and follow scientific methods\n, • Carry out planned Periodic Inspections of Traffic Signals / Traffic Light Systems\n, • Attend reactive faults and planned periodic inspections as required by the contract(s)\n, • Interrogate all types of Traffic Controllers (Traffic Signals Controllers) and carry out fault analysis under supervision of a Senior Traffic Engineer\n, • Complete any maintenance works on Traffic Signals / Traffic Lights Systems in line with agreed schedules and SLAs\n, • Electrical knowledge or equivalent Traffic Signals Units / Traffic Lights maintenance experience\n, • Strong knowledge of and experience with Traffic Controllers, Switches, Detection Boxes, and any associated equipment relating to Traffic Signals Units / Traffic Lights\n, • Fully NHSS / HERS accredited through Sector 8 / Chapter 8\n, • Full kitted out Commercial Vehicle\n, • A 1-in-4 weeks on-call / standby salary uplift\n, • Ongoing training and development\n, • 26 days holiday, plus public bank holidays, and the option to buy or sell five days each year\n, • Pension scheme\n, • A range of family friendly policies\n, • Auto enrolment onto the occupational health support and wellbeing portal\n, • Be Inclusive\n, • Take Responsibility\n, • Customer focused\n, • Collaboration\n \n \n
