CNC SETTER – 4 DAY WEEK Southend-on-Sea, Essex £30,000 – £35,000 per annum, DOE Permanent, Full-Time | Monday–Thursday, 6:45 am–4:30 pm Our client, a long-established engineering company, is expanding due to new contracts and increased production demand. They are seeking an experienced CNC Setter / Operator to support both first and second operations within the machining department. • Set and run first operations machinery, including fixed head and sliding head CNC machines, lathes, turning mills, and bar feeders (Dooson, Hardinge, Mori, Star)., • Support the setting and running of second operations machinery such as thread rollers, grinders, part markers, drill banks, depitching presses, torque testers, and deburring equipment., • Work confidently with aluminium, stainless steels, and Inconel., • Coordinate programming and setting activities alongside existing setters., • Carry out first-off inspections and job-run checks for both first and second operation parts., • Adhere to all health and safety procedures and ensure correct PPE is used at all times., • Accurately complete production records, clockings, and work movement through the company’s computerised system., • Report efficiencies, scrap, and rework to the Production Manager., • Maintain machine efficiency to support on-time delivery, arrears reduction, PPH, and other KPIs., • Produce high-quality components in line with agreed standards and quality procedures., • Complete daily maintenance and cycle time documentation., • Maintain a clean, safe, and well‑organised work area., • Train and support junior operators where required. They require a CNC Engineer Miller Setter and Operator with the ability to amend and ideally write programmes on machine. Set and operate CNC Mills and Fanuc and Heidenheim Control. The candidate must be experienced in aerospace engineering sector, working with high tolerance parts. You will be required to program, set and run a variety of 1st operation machine tools, CNC machines inclusive of mills, additional knowledge of fixed and/or sliding heads desirable., Our client is predominately a turning company and therefore the position on the Mills would be varied and would not be a standard milling company role. You would work on varied works, inclusive of bolts, tufnol sheets cutting. CNC Mills using 3 and 4 Axis (including Bridgeport, Vertical Mill with Heidenheim Controls and Haas Mill with Fanuc controls) • Strong understanding of aerospace standards., • Programme, Set and Run Mills (including HAAS and Bridgeport), • Desirable: Run, Set 1st and 2nd Ops machining tools., • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications., • Strong measurement skills using varied tooling., • Team Player and communicate with colleagues to ensure the implementation of the company’s policies and goals, • Attention to detail, including numeracy, and quality performance., • Set and Run 1st Operations CNC Mills, with programming abilities using 3 and 4 axis’ (Including Bridgeport Vertical Mill with Heidenheim Controls and Haas Mill with Fanuc controls), • Able to set and Run CNC machines including fixed head, sliding head, Lathes and Bar feeders (including Dooson, Hardinge, Mori and Star), • Support as required, with set and run 2nd Operations machinery safely – thread rollers, grinding, part markers, drill banks, depitching presses, torque testers and deburrers (manual/rotary etc)., • Work confidently with material from Aluminium, stainless steels and Inconel., • Coordination of all programming and setting activities, coordinating with other existing setters., • Carry out first-off and job run inspection of 2nd Op Machine parts, • Carry out first-off buddy checks and job run inspection of 1st and 2nd Operations machine parts., • Reduce scrap/rework reporting back efficiencies to the Production Manager., • Maintain machine efficiency to ensure we comply with On Time Deliveries, Arrears, Parts Per Hour (PPH) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)., • Manufacture good quality products in line with agreed standards and quality procedures. #J-18808-Ljbffr
