Job DescriptionMOLLY MOON'S ICE CREAM KITCHEN LEAD A Kitchen Lead at Molly Moon’s is responsible for all ice cream maker responsibilities as well as managing daily production to ensure appropriate inventory including fulfillment of all internal and wholesale orders, working in collaboration with their chef to execute accurate ingredient ordering and related processes, and ensuring proper cleaning and food safety protocols. On an average day, our production leads are independently creating a production plan, communicating the plan to ice cream makers, ensuring cleaning tasks are fulfilled, executing ordering with vendors in collaboration with their manager, and churning out large batches of ice cream. The Production Lead offers support to other ice cream makers with daily production responsibilities and communicates with the delivery team to ensure fulfillment of orders. This position works collaboratively with their shop’s chef. Problem-solving, strong time management, and effective communication are critical components of this role. The Production Lead reports to their location Chef and is an important on the ground leader in their kitchen in the execution of Molly Moon’s mission to make the world better, one scoop at a time, as a multigenerational community gathering place where ice cream, sustainability, and happiness are at the core of all we do. QUALIFICATIONS • Previous professional kitchen or production experience is required, culinary school is a plus, • Previous lead or manager experience in a kitchen or similar environment, internal applicants will be considered if they have demonstrated high performance in the ice cream maker role by receiving a minimum score or 85% in their most recent evaluation, • Passion for food, cooking, teamwork, and quality, • Ability to measure ingredients accurately and perform basic kitchen math, • Ability to work independently while also being a dedicated and collaborative team player, including independent problem solving in the moment, • Ability to lead others with great communication skills, assumption of positive intent and a professional, friendly attitude, • Willingness to learn and follow instructions with precision as well as give great attention to detail, • Be 18 years old or older, • Be available at least 32 hours a week, including weekends, with no planned absences longer than 10 days in a row from June to August, • Willingness to pick up shifts in other kitchens on occasion strongly preferred, • Ability to stand eight hours, lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly, and take required breaks on time, • Washington State food handler’s permit is required, • Have access to a phone that can text and make calls, • Have access to the internet, • Starting wage: $28.00 - $28.00/hr, • Current pay range: $28.oo/hr - $28.84/hr (1 year tenure), • Two pay increases per year: an annual merit-based raise and a cost of living increase, • Free medical, dental, and vision insurance for employees who work an average of 20hrs/wk over a period of 6 weeks, • New employees are eligible for health insurance within 60 days after their first full month of employment, • Molly Moon’s pays 100% of premium for qualifying employees and their dependent children, • A spouse may be insured on company plan at employee’s expense, • Paid sick and safe time: front loaded 16 hours at time of hire and accrues hourly at a rate of .03846/hr, • Paid vacation available after 6 months of employment, • Supplemental paid family leave benefits for employees who qualify for and receive Washington State paid family leave, • 401k with employer match of 1% the first year of participation, 2% year two, and 3% year three and onward, • Employees are eligible after 6 consecutive months of employment, • Subsidized ORCA transit pass or GoodtoGo stipend, • Childcare subsidies toward the cost of childcare, day care, babysitting, and after school programs, • up to $1,000 per month/per child for each child under the age of 5 (or pre-kindergarten), • up to $4,200 per year/per child for each child between the ages of 5-12, • Up to $50 annual subsidized shoe stipend available for non-slip work shoes, • Free Employee Assistance Program with services including: financial planning, counseling, housing and childcare resources, and other benefits, • Predictable, flexible scheduling with the ability to trade shifts and work in different shops, • Many career advancement opportunities in our growing company

RESPONSIBILITIES Hospitality * Model kind, consistent hospitality every and ensure every customer feels seen. * Share product and company knowledge confidently. * Recover customer experiences and document notable incidents. Product Prep and Quality * Support portion accuracy and product quality. * Prepare waffle cones, brownies, batter, and whipped cream. * Uphold health, safety, and sanitation standards. Store Operations and Cleanliness * Ensure opening and closing checklists are completed. * Hold shop keys and follow cash/security protocols. * Maintain calm service during rushes. * Operate Square POS successfully: run reports, troubleshoot issues, and process special transactions (ex: discounts, returns, and comps). Leadership and Responsibility * Lead shifts; assign tasks and breaks. * Provide actionable coaching to team members. * Communicate priorities and updates to the team and the next captain. * Model strong Slack communication habits. * Solve real time problems and escalate when needed. * Serve as the on-call lead up to 3 shifts/week. QUALIFICATIONS * Must be at least 18 years old. * 6+ months as a Scooper at Molly Moon’s OR 3+ months prior leadership experience. * Strong performance in hospitality, efficiency, attendance, reliability, and teamwork. * Able to remain calm and kind under pressure. * Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand 5-8 hours per shift. AVAILABILITY * Late night availability (shifts scheduled until midnight). * Available for at least two closing weekend shifts (Friday-Sunday). * Summer (Jun 1-Aug 31): available 25+ hrs/week; minimum 4 shifts/week. * Fall/Winter (Sep 1-May 31): available 20+ hrs/week; minimum 3 shifts/week. * Must provide on-call coverage up to 3 shifts/week. * Occasionally work in or pick up shifts at other locations. * No planned absences longer than 7 days from June 1-August 31. COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS • Starting wage: $28.00 (all hires start at the same hourly wage), • Pay range: $28.00/hr - $31.84/hr (4 year tenure), • Annual pay increases: a 1%–2% merit raise for every 1,800 hours worked, plus a cost-of living adjustment based on the Seattle CPI.
