American Traveler is seeking a travel Nuclear Medicine Technologist for a travel job in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: Nuclear Medicine Technologist, • Discipline: Allied Health Professional, • Start Date: 04/20/2026, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 40 hours per week, • Shift: 8 hours, days, • Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview • Shift: Days, 5x8hrs, • Hours: 40 hrs/wk, • Start Date: Apr 20, 2026, • Length: 13 weeks, • Inpatient and outpatient nuclear medicine department within a Level I Trauma, academic teaching hospital and Children's Hospital with 554 staffed beds, • Department includes 4 general rooms, 1 SPECT/CT room, and 2 PET/CT rooms, • Primary patient population is adults and geriatrics; pediatric patients (neonates through adolescents) preferred but not required, • Procedures include standard diagnostic nuclear medicine imaging such as cardiac, bone scan, HIDA, MUGA, renogram, liver/spleen, and infection imaging, • SPECT/CT procedures include infection imaging, MIBG, whole-body I-123 and I-131 imaging, and Y-90 imaging, • PET/CT procedures include FDG, Dotatate, and PSMA, • Therapies include I-131, Xofigo, and Lutathera, • Charting performed in Cerner, • 5x8-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, • On-call is minimal; call hours are 4:00 PM to 6:00 AM Monday–Friday and 24-hour coverage on weekends, • No floating within the department or to sister facilities, • Free on-site parking availableRequirements, • Minimum of 1 year of nuclear medicine technologist experience required, • ARRT(N) or NMTCB certification required; ARRT(R) also required, • Current BLS required (RQI certifications are not accepted), • NM State License required if applicable; pending state license accepted, • PET license preferred, • COVID vaccination required; religious and medical exemptions accepted with a completed exemption form signed by a provider for medical exemptions, • Proficiency in IV starts, phlebotomy, and peripheral IV maintenance required, • Experience with PACS, SPECT, cardiac imaging, bone scan, brain scan, liver/spleen scan, lung scan, renal flow, thyroid studies, tumor localization, and myocardial imaging required, • Experience with storing, handling, and disposal of radioactive materials required, • Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligibleAdditional Information, • Perform diagnostic nuclear medicine imaging, SPECT/CT, PET/CT, and therapeutic procedures across inpatient and outpatient settings, • Responsibilities include drawing venous blood, performing and maintaining peripheral IVs, and proper handling and disposal of radioactive materials, • Hunter green scrubs required, • First-time travelers are welcome to apply, • Requests for time off exceeding 7 days require facility approval; all scheduling requests should be submitted upfront, • Travelers who have worked 4 consecutive assignments or reached the one-year mark at this facility are required to take a 6-month break before returning, • 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years are required for consideration With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
