Job DescriptionDescription: The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) provides strategic and operational leadership over all finance functions for a multi-company, multi-state healthcare organization focused on senior health, post-acute, and long-term care services. The CFO is responsible for enterprise-wide financial strategy, multi-entity accounting and consolidation, and capital planning in support of organizational growth and quality patient outcomes. The CFO serves as a key advisor to the President and Senior Team and is a visible culture leader across all markets. Essential Job Functions / Responsibilities 1. Strategic Leadership & Governance • Partner with the President, executive team, and Board to develop and execute the organization’s short- and long-term financial strategy., • Provide clear, data-driven recommendations on major strategic decisions, including market expansion, service line development, partnerships, and capital investments., • Translate complex financial information into clear insights and action plans for clinical and operational leaders., • Support LHMSH culture. 2. Financial Planning, Reporting & Analysis • Lead the annual budget process, rolling forecasts, and multi-year financial planning across multiple companies, entities, and service lines., • Oversee timely, accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP, including consolidated reporting and entity-level analysis., • Develop dashboards and KPIs that monitor financial performance (e.g., revenue, EBITDA, margin, days cash, days in AR, labor costs, census, payer mix) and drive accountability with operators., • Provide variance analysis and actionable insight to improve profitability, cash flow, and capital efficiency. 3. Multi-Company / Multi-Entity Accounting & Consolidation • Oversee a complex legal and organizational structure, including multiple LLCs, holding companies, operating entities, and joint ventures across multiple states., • Ensure accurate general ledger management, intercompany transactions, allocations, eliminations, and consolidated financial statements., • Standardize accounting policies, chart of accounts, and closing processes across entities to ensure consistency, comparability, and control., • Coordinate external audits, reviews, and tax compliance in partnership with external advisors. 4. Treasury, Capital Management & Risk • Direct cash management, liquidity planning, and capital allocation across entities and states to support stable operations and strategic initiatives., • Manage banking relationships, credit facilities, debt covenants, and investment policies., • Evaluate and structure financing for new development, acquisitions, and major capital projects., • Identify, quantify, and mitigate financial risks, including insurance, self-insurance, and contingent liabilities. 5. Systems, Technology & Process Improvement • Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, automation, and standard work to increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability., • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy across finance-related workflows. 6. Leadership, Talent & Culture • Build and lead a high-performing finance organization, including accounting, FP&A, revenue cycle, and related functions across multiple locations., • Coach and develop leaders to support succession planning, engagement, and retention., • Model and enforce high standards of ethics, integrity, and confidentiality, especially in handling sensitive financial and strategic information., • Collaborate effectively with clinical, operational, HR, compliance, and legal leaders to drive aligned, enterprise-wide decision-making. 7. Other • Protect the legal, financial, and moral well-being of Larry H. Miller Senior Health and affiliated companies., • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field., • 10+ years of progressive experience in finance and accounting leadership, including at least 5 years in a senior executive role (CFO, VP Finance, or equivalent)., • Significant experience in multi-entity, multi-state healthcare (e.g., senior living, skilled nursing, post-acute rehabilitation, home health, hospice, or similar provider environment)., • Demonstrated experience overseeing consolidated financials for a portfolio/holding company structure with multiple operating entities., • Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP, healthcare reimbursement (Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers), cost reporting, and related regulatory requirements., • Proven track record improving financial performance, optimizing revenue cycle, and managing capital and liquidity., • Demonstrated success in building and leading distributed finance teams and partnering effectively with operations and clinical leaders., • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills; strong proficiency with modern ERP and reporting tools., • CPA license strongly preferred; MBA, MHA, or related advanced degree a plus., • Prior experience in a private or family-owned multi-entity organization and/or portfolio company environment., • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer., • Required vision includes close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus., • Ability to travel periodically to facilities and offices across multiple states., • Ability to carefully consider all information and make high-impact decisions on a regular basis., • Maintain regular attendance and timeliness as set forth within the work schedule designated by the department supervisor/manager., • Job requires accepting criticism and dealing calmly and effectively with high-stress situations.
