We are looking for an Accountant for our Moorpark, CA location. If you're excited by complex challenges and want to be part of a purpose-driven, collaborative team, join us in our mission: “Making our Customer’s Critical Mission Possible.” What you will be responsible for: The Accountant will assist the Finance Manager in preparing timely and accurate financial information for use by all internal and external parties including executive management, board of directors and lenders. The accountant will perform activities covering materials and production costs, cost of sales, overhead, etc. The accountant will assist in preparation of journal entries for month end close, calculate accruals, and prepare account reconciliations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Perform general ledger activities including journal entries, monthly closing tasks and preparation of monthly supporting schedules, • Reviews and check general ledger postings on labor, material costs, operating expenses, inventory, and other adjustments impacting profit and loss, • Process invoices to customers, customer credit memos and accounts receivable deposits and payments. Follow up with customers on short/overpayment of invoices and past due invoices, • Assist in accounts payable department entering invoices, obtaining approval, and processing payments, • Provide backup for payroll processing on an as-needed basis, • Assist in the management of fixed asset schedules, • Extract, analyze and organize large amounts of data for reconciliation and work center recording, • Research and follow up on reconciling items found during reconciliation process, • Ensure that internal and external customers are provided with timely and accurate assistance and information as requested What you need: Required Qualifications: • Competent in accounting and financial practices and procedures, • Working knowledge of general ledger transacting and GAAP, • Advanced skills in creating spreadsheets and reports in Excel and Word, including pivot tables, v-lookups, and other formulas, • Able to quickly assess issues and relevant information to make effective decisions, • Highly detail oriented and organized in work approach, • ERP and payroll experience is a plus, • Able to maintain effectiveness and efficiency in changing work responsibilities and environment, • An awesome employee-ownership culture, • Full benefits package (medical, dental, vision, disability, life and more), • Paid time off, • 401k match and ESOP contributions, • Flexible work environment Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
