Job Description ORGANIZATION SUMMARY: The internationally renowned Mark Morris Dance Group (MMDG) has received "highest praise for their technical aplomb, their musicality, and their sheer human authenticity." Founded in 1980, the Dance Group performs the repertory of choreographer Mark Morris, hailed as the "the most successful and influential choreographer alive, and indisputably the most musical" (The New York Times), whose work is acclaimed for its ingenuity, musicality, wit, and humanity. Live music and community engagement are vital components of the Dance Group. It has toured with its own musicians, the MMDG Music Ensemble, since 1996, and regularly collaborates with orchestras and opera companies around the world. In addition to 12 full-time dancers, the organization currently employs approximately 200 full-time, part-time and seasonal employees. In the heart of the Brooklyn Cultural District, the Mark Morris Dance Center, founded in 2001, is the hub of dance and music education in Brooklyn. The nine-studio building provides affordable classes in multiple genres for people of all ages, levels, with and without disabilities, accompanied by live music. The studios, a performance space, a Wellness Center, and ancillary spaces are all available to the community and to nonprofit organizations at subsidized rates. MMDG's Community Education Programs partner with public and private schools and community centers to provide customized classes. The Mark Morris Dance Group is seeking a Director of Marketing and Communications to strategically advance our visibility, reputation, and audience engagement. The Director is responsible for promoting the Mark Morris Dance Group's performing company, Dance Center, Dance for PD, school, and community programs. This position will play an integral role in ensuring the organization's brand is effectively communicated to diverse audiences, including ticket buyers, donors, students, community members, press, presenters and other industry professionals. As a member of the senior leadership team, the Director collaborates closely with the Executive Director, Chief Financial Officer and Director of Development to align marketing efforts with institutional goals. The Director will also lead external communications, represent the organization publicly, and play a key role in driving messaging for major initiatives. Reporting to the Executive Director, this role manages branding, content strategy, digital and print communications, advertising, public relations, and audience development initiatives. This role oversees a team of three to four staff members, including a Marketing Manager, Creative Content; Marketing and Digital Engagement Associate; Dancer Social Media Liaison and external consultants. Role: Growth Manager, Solutions Location: New York, NY (hybrid) About the role: As Growth Manager, you'll own a pipeline of mid-to-large opportunities across advertising and enterprise accounts, targeting marketing, marketing operations, and transformation stakeholders. What you will be doing: • Own a personal new-business pipeline and contribute to net-new revenue targets through proactive prospecting and consultative selling, • Identify and prioritise target accounts using signal-based insights — market triggers, organisational changes, and martech and AI initiatives, • Run discovery-led conversations to uncover root problems, map buying committees, build internal champions, and progress close plans, • Shape compelling, executable solutions alongside Solutions, Creative, Operations, and Brandtech specialists — including embedded studio models, creative operations, and AI-enabled workflows, • Support proposal development across SOWs, solution narratives, business cases, and commercial models (FTE-based, time and materials, output-based, outcome-based), • Participate strategically in RFPs and RFIs, ensuring OLIVER's point of view is clearly differentiated, • Maintain disciplined Salesforce hygiene and track leading indicators — meetings set, discovery-to-proposal conversion, pipeline velocity — adjusting tactics accordingly, • Represent OLIVER in client meetings and industry events to build network, credibility, and inbound opportunity flow, • Stay current on generative AI and agentic marketing trends and translate developments into client-facing insights What you need to be great in this role: • Proven experience in business development, growth, or consultative sales within marketing services, advertising, agency ecosystems, consulting, or SaaS/MarTech, • Demonstrated success across mid-to-large opportunity cycles: discovery, stakeholder mapping, solution shaping, and close, • Familiarity with embedded and managed service models, creative operations, and marketing transformation — including in-housing, production, and martech/AI enablement, • Strong discovery and storytelling skills — able to lead value-focused conversations, not capabilities pitches, • Commercial confidence: comfortable with scope, pricing, timelines, KPIs, and negotiation workflows, • Organised, detail-oriented, and a strong written communicator across proposals, decks, and CRM, • A confident presenter with strong proficiency in Keynote or Google Slides — able to build and deliver compelling narratives for senior client audiences, • Proficiency with Gen AI tools to enhance research, proposal drafting, and outreach; able to build personal AI workflows and critically evaluate outputs before client use, • Genuine curiosity about generative AI and agentic marketing trends — and the ability to translate that into relevant client conversations, • Collaborative, low-ego working style; able to partner across Solutions, Creative, Operations, and Client team, • At the time of this posting, the base salary for this position may range from $119,000.00 to $133,000.00. Individual compensation varies based on job related factors, including location, business needs, level of responsibility, experience, and qualifications.
