Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: Endoscopy Technician, • Discipline: Allied Health Professional, • Start Date: 06/01/2026, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 40 hours per week, • Shift: 8 hours, days, • Employment Type: Travel GI / Endoscopy Technician – Travel Facility: Providence Saint John's Health Center Location: Santa Monica, CA Unit: Endoscopy / GI Lab Assignment Length: 13 Weeks (Potential for extension) Position Overview Providence Saint John’s Health Center is seeking an experienced GI / Endoscopy Technician to support a high-volume endoscopy and surgical services department. This role requires strong technical expertise in endoscopic procedures, scope processing, and sterile technique within an acute care hospital setting. Candidates must be confident working in inpatient procedural environments, assisting physicians during GI and related diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Schedule • Shift: Day Shift, • Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, • Schedule Type: 5×8-hour shifts, • Call Requirement: Yes, • Weeknights: 4:30 PM – 7:30 AM, • Weekends: 24-hour rotating call, • Approx. 8 weeknights + 2 weekend call shifts per 6-week cycle, • Floating: Required to assist in OR cases as neededKey Responsibilities, • Assist physicians during GI and endoscopic procedures, • Perform scope handling, cleaning, and high-level disinfection (HLD), • Prepare, process, and maintain endoscopic equipment and surgical trays, • Support procedures including:, • Colonoscopy, • EGD, • ERCP, • EUS (Endoscopic Ultrasound), • Bronchoscopy, • Flexible sigmoidoscopy, • Operate and manage equipment such as:, • Balloon dilators, • ERBE coagulation system, • Maintain sterile field and ensure compliance with infection control standards, • Assist with instrument reprocessing, assembly, and sterilization workflows, • Support OR and urology cases as neededRequired Experience & Skills, • Minimum 3 years GI / Endoscopy experience, • Strong knowledge of:, • Endoscopic procedures, • Scope reprocessing and sterilization, • Aseptic technique and sterile field maintenance, • Experience required in:, • Outpatient procedural settings, • Scrub assistance, • Instrument assembly and wrappingCertifications, • BLS preferred, • SGNA certification preferred, • No national certification requiredClinical Environment, • 266-bed acute care hospital located near the beach, • Fast-paced GI lab and surgical services department, • Adult patient population (geriatrics included), • Strong interdisciplinary surgical support teams, • Epic electronic medical record systemImportant Requirements, • No first-time travelers unless 5+ years experience, • Must be comfortable with on-call responsibilities (weeknights + weekends), • Must be willing to float to OR support cases, • Work in a high-volume GI lab within a prestigious coastal hospital, • Exposure to advanced endoscopic and surgical procedures, • Strong procedural skills development in a fast-paced environment, • Opportunity to support both GI and OR surgical teams • Weekly pay, • Medical benefits
