This role requires strong situational awareness, a visible security presence, and the ability to respond effectively to incidents while supporting a safe learning environment. Key Responsibilities: Responsibilities may vary by post and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), but generally include: • Monitor property activity, manage access control, conduct patrols, respond to incidents, emergencies, or evacuations as needed., • Maintain firearms proficiency and follow all safety and legal standards, • Apply de-escalation techniques and sound judgement in challenging situations., • Communicate effectively with clients, the public, and supervisors., • Follow all site-specific SOPs, company policies, local laws and regulations, maintaining strict confidentiality regarding site-related activities., • Use technology efficiently (smartphones, reporting tools, scheduling software)., • Fluent in English and Spanish, • Extensive law enforcement or military background with operational or field experience, • Committed to community safety and providing respectful, reliable support, • Calm, confident, and professional under pressure, with strong de-escalation and conflict management skills, • Maintains excellent situational awareness and sound judgment in dynamic environments, • Demonstrates a positive attitude, strong time management, and consistent dependability, • Comfortable working independently and with a team, • Maintains a clean, professional appearance, • Communicates clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, • Proficient with smartphones, scheduling systems, and basic reporting software Mandatory Qualifications: • Professional Firearms Experience: Proven safe handling and operation of firearms, including marksmanship, safety protocols, and weapon retention, gained through law enforcement, military service, or certified armed security roles., • Professional Grooming Standards: Must maintain a neat, clean, and professional appearance in accordance with company guidelines., • Comprehensive Background Check: Successful completion of criminal history, employment verification, and reference checks., • Psychological Examination: Required to assess suitability for high-stress environments and critical decision-making., • School Security Officer Academy: Completion of an 80-hour School Security Officer Academy covering emergency response, de-escalation, and school-specific safety protocols., • Drug Screening: Must pass a pre-employment drug screening. Requirements: Requirements: • 21 years of age or older, • high school diploma or GED, • pass required comprehensive background check, • pass required psychological exam, • pass drug screen immediately upon hire, • successful completion of school security officer academy, • eligible to legally use a firearm, • previous firearm experience, • willing to travel to Fort Collins for an interview and at least 80 hours worth of training, • able to work the posted hours without modification, • able to train and become certified to use an approved firearm, • ability to use/maintain/operate/manipulate firearm, handcuffs, and other issued gear, • able to stand for up to eight hours at a time, • able to pass company basic hand-to-hand course, • able to walk around and up and down stairs frequently throughout your shift, • able to lift at least 50 pounds unassisted, • able to wear issued gear belt for the entire duration of your assigned shift
