Job Description Job Title: Marketing Assistant (Student Position) Reports To: Associate Director of Housing Location: The Towers at the City College of New York Compensation: See compensation summary FLSA Status: Student Non-Exempt Summary: The Marketing Assistant (MA) is a paraprofessional member of The Towers at CCNY and Capstone On-Campus Management. The Marketing Assistant s responsible assisting with marketing efforts and for positively contributing to a high-quality living experience for our residents. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The responsibilities of a Marketing Assistant are many and varied. This position description is a general statement of duties and does not specifically cover every responsibility and expectation of the position, and other duties may be assigned as needed. Major responsibilities include: Administrative Responsibilities: • Attend/oversee various Marketing Events, including, but not limited to Open Houses throughout the CUNY/NON-CUNY System., • Responsible for creating promotional content like flyers, posters, videos or newsletters., • Maintain and update all social media platforms., • Oversee resident satisfaction efforts such as conducting research for desired amenities and associated costs, overseeing surveys, and resident appreciation events., • Create and continuously update a NON-CUNY contact/liaison database of institutions for marketing opportunities., • Maintain and update the Marketing Assistant Manual., • Track the effectiveness of marketing efforts using data to make informed decisions., • Assist with the training of Office Assistants and Resident Assistants as tour guides; ensure ‘tour’ room(s) are coordinated for best showing., • Customer Service – may assist the office, Associate Director, or Assistant Director(s) by returning calls and inquiries on their behalf., • Serves as a backup to the Office Coordinator or Office Assistant at times of absence in that role., • Performs other clerical duties as needed, such as filing, photocopying, and collating., • Collaborate or coordinate with other department teams, such as the residence life team or student organizations on campus., • Assist and be present for the Move-In and Move-Out Processes at the start and end of each semester and other periods as determined by the supervisor., • Maintain confidentiality in all responsbilities of this role., • Participate in a weekly on-call rotation (Monday–Monday), including holidays, shared with the Office Coordinator and Senior Resident Assistant., • Carry the Professional Duty Phone at all times while on duty responding to calls from Resident Assistants and address situations in person as needed., • Contact appropriate authorities (maintenance, upper-level management, or law enforcement) n a timely manner, depending on the situation., • Enforce policies and address any policy violations promptly. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required., • Currently enrolled full-time student at CCNY (12 undergraduate credits or 9 graduate credits) or a current Towers resident, enrolled in 12 undergraduate credits or 9 graduate credits at a CUNY school., • Have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or higher at the time of application and maintain this minimum GPA during the entire employment period., • Must be in good financial and judicial standing with The Towers, as well as their academic institution, at the start of the employment period and maintain good financial and judicial standing throughout the employment period, • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization., • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situation, • Have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Work fifteen (15) hours per week in the community office location. The required number of office hours may fluctuate depending on the need of the Office. • Participate in bi-weekly individual meetings with supervisor(s)., • Establish and implement a personal skill development plan with supervisor(s)., • Receive prior approval from supervisor(s) for any involvement in time commitments outside of academics., • Receive prior approval from supervisor(s) for additional employment beyond the MA position (not to exceed ten hours per week)., • Assist and be present for the Move-In and Move-Out Processes at the start and end of each semester and other periods as determined by the supervisor., • Involved in an overnight weeknight and weekend duty rotation shared among staff members. The noise level is usually moderate. Compensation: • The Marketing Assistant will work ten (10) hour each week for a a single room accommodation within a 3-bedroom apartment (estimated worth $22,000 per year). If the Marketing Assistant resigns or is terminated from the position, they must vacate their room and move out of The Towers within three business days. If eligible to reside at The Towers, they may sign a new Housing License Agreement and relocate to the new housing assignment within three business days of the end of employment. Then Marketing Assistant position at The Towers at City College of New York begins June 1, 2026, and ends May 31, 2027.
