Essential Functions and Responsibilities Includes the Following: • Understands and adheres to Performance Standards, Policies, and Behaviors., • Plans, implements and evaluates the Lactation orientation and in-service programs for nursing, providers, and other staff on an on-going basis to assure appropriate documentation and skill competency., • Organizes patient education classes and outpatient lactation resources., • Ensures Human Donor Milk program is in alignment with regulatory agencies via documentation and compliance with established policies and procedures, • Directs baby-friendly initiative in partnership with WPH providers and administrators to ensure the compliance and maintenance of the designation, • Collects, analyzes, and disseminates data related to infant feeding and best practices., • Provides direct patient care as a staff nurse as needed., • Utilizes appropriate steps in the decision-making process to include recognition and priority setting related to patient care and unit-based issues. Addresses issues with appropriate actions, • Collaborates and communicates with the health care team, • Integrates patient rights into work practice, • Utilizes and monitors methods of Infection Control, • Develops and participates in Performance Improvement initiatives, • Completes competency requirements as well as CERP requirements to maintain IBCLC Certification, • Attends and participates in mandatory in-services., • Attends and presents at staff meetings as required/requested, • Utilizes cost containment practices, • Adheres to all WPHC policies and procedures including dress code, code of conduct, customer service, attendance and submission of annual physicals, • Functions as a resource person regarding lactation issues, to hospital staff, physicians and patients, • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with current New York registration., • BSN Degree required., • Knowledge of current nursing, lactation, medical and health trends and practices in rendering of patient care, • Certification from the IBCLE (International Board of Certified Lactation Examiners) with a certification of IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant), • BLS, NRP and ACLS certification is required.

Job Description New Hope is seeking a full-time, live-in Administrator at our maternity home, the Joan of Arc House, located in Washington Township, NJ. In addition to overseeing the smooth running of the household, the Administrator will be responsible for mentoring up to 5 first-time, single moms who have chosen life for their child. These moms will come from challenging environments and backgrounds. Many will have never experienced unconditional love. The Administrator, with help from New Hope volunteers, will help start these women on their journey to an independent life and the opportunity for their child to thrive supported by New Hope’s mission of helping them achieve: • Financial stability via a meaningful career, • Parenting expertise, • Emotional stability, • Physical well-being, • Organize and post a weekly chores/cleaning schedule, • Ensure moms (and babies) are eating nutritious meals, • Daily meetings with all guests to discuss any issues/concerns, • Keeping updated records for each mom and baby per State requirements, • Document monthly fire drill results and any remedial actions needed, • Ensure moms and babies are keeping all medical appointments including arranging transportation where needed, • Hosting weekly workshops on relevant financial topics, job/career topics, and life skills topics, • Ensuring spiritual guidance is being offered, • Strong communicator – Spanish language skills a major plus, • Comfortable with conflict mediation, • Strong organization skills, • Ability and desire “to walk in her shoes”, • Practicing tough love, as required

About the Schedule: Schedule: 7-on, 7-off shifts Hours: 12-hour shifts Responsibilities: The OB/GYN Laborist will: Monitor the progress of labor, assess the well-being of both the mother and the baby, and make decisions regarding the need for interventions Assess pregnant women who arrive at the hospital with various concerns Provide emergency care to pregnant women who experience complications or unexpected events during labor and delivery Consult with and provide care to pregnant women who are being managed by the hospital's primary OBGYNs or midwives Assist with and perform cesarean sections (C-sections) when necessary Provide postpartum care, including assessing the mother's recovery and addressing any postpartum complications.
