Job Summary: The Assistant Director of Patient Care serves as a nurse (RN) leader for an assigned unit in the acute care setting. This role provides leadership and direction to support the daily clinical operations of the unit and the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care. Responsibilities: • Oversee and support day-to-day operations of clinical staff on the unit., • Manage appropriate staffing levels and organize coverage accordingly., • Plan and execute programs to improve unit efficiency and service delivery., • Work cooperatively with other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes., • Ensure compliance with patient care quality and regulatory standards., • Support departmental, hospital, and system initiatives including ongoing clinical education, quality improvement plans, and staff engagement activities. Required Qualifications: • Active RN license (New Jersey or compact state if applicable)., • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification., • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree (minimum requirement)., • At least 3 years of clinical practice experience in the unit or specialty of interest., • Strongly Preferred: Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree and prior nursing management experience., • Additional specialty certifications may be required depending on the assigned unit.
