Van Leeuwen Ice Cream is hiring a full-time Single-Unit General Manager to oversee one of our Atlanta, GA locations. This is a great opportunity for a highly experienced individual to work closely with the founding team of Van Leeuwen Ice Cream as they embark on their next stage of accelerated growth. The ideal candidate is someone who has experience operating food retail spaces (multi-unit or high volume single-unit), loves building and leading teams, and can thrive in a fast-paced environment (and loves ice cream!). The Single-Unit General Manager is responsible for the overall operation of their assigned store.. This includes managing people operations, sales, inventory, and the guest service experience. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES • Completes store operational requirements by scheduling and assigning stations for employees, • Maintains store staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees, • Maintains store staff job results by coaching, counseling, disciplining, and terminating employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results, • Achieves financial objectives by monitoring sales targets, maintaining budgets, and properly forecasting labor, • Upholds excellent standard of customer service, • Ensures availability of merchandise and services by communicating with vendors; maintaining inventories, • Maintains a safe and clean environment for customers and employees, • Rolls out new menu items to team members and communicates these changes throughout the retail space, • Processes weekly payroll in a timely and accurate manner, • Orders and maintains uniform supply and successfully holds all employees to uniform standard, • Addresses all maintenance issues JOB REQUIREMENTS • ServSafe Manager Food Handlers license required, • 2+ years of experience in a food retail management role preferred, • Prior experience managing a team required, • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, • Possess dexterity to prepare and serve guests all menu items in accordance with established service and build-out standards, • Able to push/pull/lift 50 lbs of weight regularly, • Stand for extended periods of time regularly, • Walk up and down stairs regularly, • Stand, bend and reach for prolonged periods of time, • Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment PERKS + BENEFITS • Employee Scoop Card (Enjoy Ice Cream from any of our scoop shops nationwide), • Medical, Dental + Vision Insurance with 70% Employer Contribution, • 401k with up to 4% Employer Match, • Cell Phone Reimbursement Plan, • Paid Time Off - 3 Weeks / 120 Hours Total, • Paid Sick Time, • Yearly Performance Reviews Van Leeuwen Ice Cream is committed to pay transparency and equity among all employees and provides employees an environment where pay transparency and dialogue on compensation are allowed. WHAT WE ARE HUNGRY FOR The Construction Project Manager is responsible for the implementation of the Design & Construction guidelines, managing architectural and construction activities involved with new and remodel locations. The Construction Project Manager will provide recommendations on prototype improvements, supervise the entire development process from test-fit to project closeout, and provide process-driven enhancements when appropriate. The ideal candidate will leverage their construction/design knowledge to provide ongoing assistance to help us achieve our vision of re-establishing the neighborhood bakery café as the heart of the community around the world. KNOWLEDGE AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Manage all facets of the project development process for new and remodel locations including test-fit layouts, CD's, permitting, construction through to opening of the café., • Supervise and manage the construction process while establishing and maintaining communication with internal and external stakeholders., • Manage Paris Baguette preferred architects, general contractors, millwork & sign vendors including ongoing development of new vendors, as needed., • Ability to develop scope of work, budgets, coordination of deliveries and identify risks for projects, project delivery requirements, cost estimates and risk identification, as required., • Track progress of all projects against approved timelines and goals. Reports on project status and potential delays and then implements an action plan to meet objectives as needed for on time opening., • Implement the company's business policies, programs, specifications and procedures related to planning, design and construction of Paris Baguette locations, • Undertake all reasonable measures to ensure that all agreed to new store build/ relocations/ remodels are met for franchisee markets., • Provide bakery/franchise design assistance and construction project management support to the teams to ensure new openings and redevelopments meet corporate design standards., • Stay current with bakery/franchise industry practices regarding development plans, design standards and related cost and maintain liaison with Paris Baguette team to identify, cascade, and implement global programs and regional initiatives., • Perform assigned tasks as assigned. WHAT YOU NEED TO HAVE • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Construction or related field., • At least, 5-7 years Architecture/Construction Project Management experience in QSR/Retail/Hospitality/Entertainment industry., • Experience in the Architectural field including commercial and retail related activities., • Progressive leadership experience in a fast paced and rapidly growing retail environment. Must have a proven multi-unit restaurant development background leading 100 plus locations., • Experience with a fast growing, high-volume Franchise company preferred., • Bakery/Café kitchen construction project management experience preferred., • Passion for people! Our Scoopers are the ultimate Van Leeuwen ambassadors, bringing our high standards and hospitality to life in every guest interaction. The ideal candidate brings positive energy, strong people skills and a genuine passion for ice cream! Part Time Scoopers at Van Leeuwen's scoop shops make $14.00 per hour + an average of an additional $9 per hour in tips! Tips are based on averages and subject to seasonal fluctuation.Our team members must have availability to work at least three shifts per week and be available to work past 12am. KNOWLEDGE AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Support strategic planning, implementation and follow up initiatives amongst the team of managers in their market., • Responsible for the primary focus on corporate café operations and all aspects of corporate talent, including talent acquisition, retention and development, where applicable., • Offer guidance and mentorship to other members of the operations team in their respective market - when / where applicable., • Identifies the training needs of cafe managers and works in conjunction with training team to execute applicable training., • Facilitates one-on-one or classroom training as appropriate and needed with franchisee teams., • Creates a mentoring and supportive environment focused on continuous development of teams., • Supports franchisee owners and their GMs to ensure they have processes and procedures to manage performance, like skills evaluations and assessments and performance management, • Also support owners and GMs to ensure they are knowledgeable and aware of the training and development curriculum to ensure their teams have the training necessary to do their jobs to the best of their abilities., • Continually inspects the Region/District's Operational and Guest Service standards; consistently communicates standards to cafe managers and ensures execution at café level., • Proactively meets or exceeds guest experiences; deals promptly with complaints received and puts action plans into place to address service gaps., • Consistent with the Region/Districts plan, ensures cafe managers have specific, focused and well-executed sales and marketing plans. Evaluates cafe financial progress and performance and helps to develop action plans accordingly., • Ensures adherence to policies and procedures for food and beverage sales and consumption, food safety and health/sanitation., • Ensures that policies and procedures are in compliance with organization's policies and with all local and state regulations., • Utilizes preventive maintenance programs to maintain cafe facilities., • Ability to work varying shifts, weekends and holidays, as well as extended workdays to support business needs., • Other duties may be assigned. WHAT YOU NEED TO HAVE • Bachelor's degree and 5-7 years of progressive related experience in high-volume retail, entertainment, hospitality, or restaurant venue are required., • At least 3 to 5 years of progressive management experience managing teams., • Relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is also acceptable., • Thorough knowledge of working Point of Sale (POS) register systems, Toast experience preferred., • Strong Inventory Planning and Management skills required., • P&L capability and sales/marketing skills and abilities., • Flexible, adaptive, upbeat, open and visible management style, with a successful record of accomplishment of managing senior operations leaders across a large geographically decentralized portfolio., • Passion for people!
