    The Grotto Authentic Caribbean Cuisine LLC is seeking a talented, passionate, and dependable Chef to join our team. The Chef will be responsible for preparing authentic Caribbean cuisine while maintaining the highest standards of food quality, flavor, presentation, cleanliness, and food safety. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of Caribbean cooking traditions, enjoys working in a fast-paced kitchen environment, and takes pride in preparing flavorful, authentic meals that provide our guests with an exceptional dining experience. Key Responsibilities Prepare and cook authentic Caribbean dishes according to established recipes, standards, and portion sizes. Demonstrate knowledge of Caribbean flavors, spices, seasonings, cooking techniques, and traditional dishes. Prepare meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, rice, sauces, sides, and other menu items. Ensure food is consistently fresh, flavorful, properly seasoned, and attractively presented. Follow recipes and maintain consistency in taste, quality, and portion control. Assist with menu development and contribute ideas for new Caribbean-inspired dishes and specials. Properly store, label, date, and rotate food products using appropriate food-storage procedures. Monitor food inventory and communicate ingredient and supply needs to management. Minimize food waste while maintaining appropriate preparation levels. Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen and food-preparation areas. Follow all applicable food safety, sanitation, and health regulations. Ensure proper temperatures are maintained for food preparation, cooking, holding, cooling, and storage. Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely and properly. Assist with receiving and inspecting food deliveries for quality and freshness. Work efficiently during busy service periods while maintaining food quality and accuracy. Coordinate with kitchen staff and front-of-house team to ensure timely and accurate orders. Train or assist in training kitchen staff on recipes, preparation methods, sanitation, and company standards as needed. Communicate effectively with management and team members regarding kitchen operations and customer needs. Perform other kitchen-related duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous professional cooking or chef experience preferred. Experience preparing Caribbean cuisine strongly preferred. Knowledge of traditional Caribbean dishes and cooking methods. Ability to follow recipes while maintaining consistency and quality. Strong knife skills and knowledge of food preparation techniques. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices. Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift or move kitchen supplies as required. Reliable, punctual, professional, and team-oriented. Culinary education or certification is a plus but not required. Food-handler certification or other applicable food-safety certification is preferred. You will help bring Casabuela’s kitchen vision to life by executing dishes with care, respect, and pride.
