ABOUT THE POSITION The County of Riverside's Riverside University Health System is seeking new graduate Registered Nurses to work in the Emergency Department at the Medical Center in Moreno Valley. The Registered Nurse I - MC/CHC is the entry level classification in the Registered Nurse - MC/CHC series and reports to an appropriate supervisory or manager level position. Incumbents perform the full range of professional nursing duties in a learning capacity within the scope of the Nursing Practice Act, (or with less than one year of experience working as a registered nurse), within assigned unit(s). Incumbents typically work under close supervision and receive comprehensive in-service training. The Emergency Department is a 44-licensed bed, Level II Pediatric Trauma center, and ACS Level I Trauma Center for adults. On average, the Emergency Department serves 80,000 to 100,000 patients annually. It serves the community in various ways, including providing on-sight social workers, case managers, behavioral health professionals, child life specialists, and addiction counselors. Furthermore, the Medical Center has a robust sepsis and stroke program, with the majority of these patients beginning in the Emergency Department. The department also has four clinical educators, who oversee the new graduate nurses and assist the department with education, training, competencies, and critical patients. The new graduate Registered Nurse cohort is designed to incorporate critical judgement, professional conduct, and weekly didactics to integrate the necessary skills and critical thinking required to become an Emergency Department Registered Nurse. The program is 18-weeks with the focus of the new graduate Registered Nurse mastering critical skills. Upon graduation, the new graduate Registered Nurse will be able to function at a competent level within the Emergency Department. Required Licenses & Certifications Upon Hire • A current and valid Registered Nurse license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of California, (it is not necessary to be licensed prior to interviewing, however you must have a valid license prior to official onboarding)., • A current and valid Basic Life Support, (BLS), certification issued by the American Heart Association., • A current and valid Advanced Cardiac Life Support,(ACLS), certification issued by the American Heart Association., • A current and valid Pediatric Advances Life Support, (PALS), certification issued by the American Heart Association., • A current and valid National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale, (NIHSS), certification issued by the American Heart Association, Blue Cloud-National Stroke Association, or Apex., • A current and valid Trauma Nursing Core Course, (TNCC), certification or Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses, (ATCN), certification, (required within one year of hire date). SDI also includes Paid Family Leave Benefits. The wage replacement rate is determined by current law, offering 60-70% of the wages earned during the SDI eligibility period. Additionally, employees receive employer-paid Long-Term Disability Benefits, which cover 66.67% of pre-disability earnings, up to a maximum of $10,000 per month. There is a 365-day waiting period before these benefits become active. Employees may coordinate these benefits with other available leave balances to receive up to 100% of their regular pay.
