Job DescriptionJob Title: Material HandlerJob Description We are seeking a dedicated Material Handler for our Receiving & Shipping department. This full-time position operates from Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM at our Wichita, KS facility. The Material Handler plays a crucial role in receiving, processing, storing, and distributing metal, ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse with a strong focus on safety. Responsibilities • Complete basic, routine tasks with detailed instructions and core knowledge of shop flow., • Pull and assemble orders based on reviewing work/shipping orders or other documentation., • Coordinate and execute material handling., • Perform quality control inspections., • Sort and package parts as directed., • Tag material for proper identification and complete all required documentation., • Operate yard truck, forklift, and overhead crane for loading and unloading trailers., • Conduct spot checks on inventory, ensuring proper tagging of material., • Report any irregularities to the supervisor., • Adhere to and ensure compliance with applicable safety and quality standards., • Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work area., • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.Essential Skills, • Valid Driver’s License., • 0-5 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience., • Manual dexterity, finger dexterity, arm-hand steadiness, and multilimbed coordination., • Ability to read and comprehend written instructions., • Common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form., • Basic measurement skills, including taking, converting, and using measurements of length, width, height, and weight., • Basic arithmetic skills to calculate and convert decimals and fractions., • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively., • Sound decision-making based on knowledge, experience, and judgment., • Ability to lift 100 pounds occasionally, 60 pounds repetitively., • Ability to stand for sustained periods of time., • Ability to push or pull 80 pounds of force., • Ability to repeatedly get on and off truck trailers., • Ability to work in temperatures over 100 degrees F and below 32 degrees F., • Develop and maintain good working relationships with supervisors, co-workers, and vendors., • Obtain a certificate to operate all required motorized material handling and rigging equipment., • Basic computer proficiency and working knowledge of software applications.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience in warehousing and material handling., • High School diploma/GED.
