Job Description NOVA Engineering is hiring a Construction Site Inspector to work on utilities and wastewater projects for local municipalities in the north Atlanta, GA metro area. The inspector will perform on-site inspections of land development, construction, and stormwater facilities to ensure compliance with approved site plans, erosion & sedimentation controls, grading, drainage, stormwater management, public infrastructure installation, and local/state/federal environmental and construction regulations. Essential Duties & Responsibilities • Inspect construction sites during different phases (e.g. site grading, utilities installation, stormwater control measures, paving, final site clean-up) to ensure they conform to approved site plans, specifications, and applicable codes., • Enforce erosion, sedimentation, and runoff controls; verify proper installation, maintenance, and effectiveness of Best Management Practices (BMPs) during and after construction., • Review site plan elements (e.g. drainage, stormwater detention/retention, stormwater outlets, buffers, wetlands, stream buffers) on-site to ensure correct grading, slopes, as-built conditions match plans., • Observe and document site conditions, take measurements, record deviations or nonconformities; issue correction notices or stop work orders as needed., • Coordinate with permit holders (contractors, engineers, developers), other city staff, and regulatory agencies to resolve site compliance issues., • Maintain records of inspections, site observations, corrective actions, and as‐built documentation., • Provide feedback and field input for plan reviews, permitting, and changes in design, when site conditions necessitate., • Respond to citizen complaints or concerns related to site development (erosion, runoff, sediment, etc.)., • Assist in ensuring the city’s compliance with stormwater regulations (e.g. MS4 permit requirements) and any state/federal environmental statutes regarding land disturbance., • High school diploma or equivalent; degree/technical training in civil engineering, environmental science, construction management, or related field preferred., • Some experience in land development, site inspection, erosion/sediment control, construction or civil works., • Knowledge of grading, drainage, stormwater management principles; familiarity with BMPs, site plan reading., • Ability to read and understand construction drawings, specifications, site plans, permits., • Strong observation, documentation, and communication skills; able to write inspection reports., • Valid driver’s license., • Field work in all weather conditions; visits active construction sites; may involve walking on uneven terrain, mud, slopes, etc., • Use of protective gear: hard hat, safety vest, boots, etc. In addition to our welcoming company culture and competitive compensation packages, our employees enjoy the below benefits: • Use of take-home Company Vehicle and fuel card for daily travel to work sites, • Comprehensive group medical insurance, including health, dental and vision, • Opportunity for professional growth and advancement, • Certification reimbursement and incentive program, • Paid time off, • Company-observed paid holidays, • Company paid life insurance for employee, spouse and children, • Company paid short term disability coverage, • Other supplemental benefit offerings including long-term disability, critical illness, accident and identity theft protection, • 401K retirement with company matching of 50% on the first 6% of employee contributions, • Wellness program with incentives #LI-JT
