Job Description Who We Are: CAMBA is a community of staff, volunteers, clients, donors, neighbors and partners who work together to build an inclusive New York City, where all children and adults have access to the resources and supports, they need to thrive. We reach almost 80,000 individuals and families, including almost 13,000 youth. CAMBA serves a diverse cross section of New Yorkers from new mothers in Brownsville to job seekers in the Rockaways. More than half of our clients are immigrants and refugees from around the globe. Over 85% of our families are living in poverty, reflecting the challenges faced by nearly 1.7 million New Yorkers today. CAMBA operates 6 single adult shelters and 6 family shelters and one drop in center. Each shelter offers clients a supportive, structured therapeutic, safe, and drug-free facility. Homeless (often mentally-ill and substance-abusing) men and women are provided with comprehensive services to stabilize their condition in order to successfully transition into to permanent and/or supported housing. CAMBA’s The Landing Family Shelter is funded by New York City Department of Homeless Services and offers families a supportive, structured therapeutic, safe, and drug-free facility. It provides comprehensive case management services to 169 families who are in a transitional residence program for homeless families. The three story facility has rooms of various sizes, common areas and provides on-site security and social services Position: Driver/Maintenance Worker Reports To: Director of Security and Operations Location: East Elmhurst, NY 11369 What The Driver/Maintenance Worker Does: The person filling this position is expected, under general supervision, to: (1) aid individuals and/or families requiring social service assistance; (2) in collaboration with clients, interview and evaluate clients and formulate independent living plans; and (3) locate and make use of appropriate community resources for clients; including the following: • Maintain professional relationships with clients and client confidentiality., • Practice Universal Precautions/Standard Protocol & Procedures., • Comply with any and all Federal, State, City and CAMBA security and privacy policies intended to protect the security and privacy of individually identifiable health information., • Identify and document all maintenance issues on work order form., • Immediately report maintenance equipment issues (i.e., inoperable, missing, etc.), • Comply with all maintenance regulatory requirements at all times., • Utilize appropriate safety standards (i.e., wear safety goggles, masks, appropriate attire) and display safety signs when performing tasks., • Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, window blinds, and draperies., • Clean and sanitize toilets, sinks, tubs, showers, shower fixtures, including walls, floors, curtains, stalls, and mirrors., • Replace light bulbs, light fixtures, light covers, electrical outlet covers and ballasts as needed., • Dust and/or wipe furniture, equipment, and ceiling fans., • Separate and transport trash, recyclables and waste to disposal area and consolidate for pickup., • Respond to and prepare for inclement weather (i.e., prepare sandbags, tie down loose outdoor items, remove snow and/or ice from the sidewalks, driveways and stairs, etc.)., • Clean storm drains and gutters to ensure proper drainage., • Polish metalwork, including lighting fixtures., • Replenish bathroom supplies including toilet tissue, paper towels, and hand soap., • Wash walls, ceiling, woodwork, windows, sills and door panels, heating and cooling vents, and air conditioner filters., • Plaster and paint the interiors of buildings., • Replace door handles or locks as needed., • Remove graffiti from interior and exterior surfaces., • Replace cracked or missing floor tiles, wall tiles and ceiling tiles as necessary., • Perform daily pre-trip vehicle inspection prior to the first trip of the day., • Immediately report vehicle and/or equipment that are inoperable, missing or improperly utilized., • Complete vehicle travel log for all trips., • Assist passengers needing assistance in order to enter and/or exit the vehicle., • Keep the vehicle clean and/or free of litter at all times., • May make minor plumbing and electrical repairs., • May escort clients to appointments., • Must be able to carry at least 50 lbs, • Tasks may be modified, expanded, and/or assigned over time. Job Description Program Overview In this new Clinical Support Program, Rising Ground will embed licensed professionals specializing in mental health, substance misuse, and intimate partner violence directly into child protective work in Brooklyn. These clinicians will collaborate closely with ACS staff and families to assess needs, provide tailored service recommendations, and ensure families are connected to appropriate supports. By integrating clinical expertise into frontline decision-making, Rising Ground will play a vital role in enhancing child safety and strengthening family outcomes across the borough. About the Role The full-time IPV Clinician provides direct clinical services and clinical guidance, training, and support to an ACS Child Protective Services team. The clinician works collaboratively with the CPS team, providing feedback on a family’s Intimate Partner Violence needs, assisting with referrals for subsequent IPV interventions and providing warm hand offs to community based providers. This position requires regular in-person presence at an ACS field office in Brooklyn or within the community. Occasional travel to other agency sites or meetings may also be required. With a team of over 900 staff and an annual budget of $130 million, the Center carries out its mission through three core strategies: • Operating Programs that pilot new ideas and address local challenges;, • Conducting original research to evaluate what works—and what doesn’t; and THE OPPORTUNITY Staten Island Justice Center (SIJC) seeks to re-engineer the experience of criminal court in Staten Island, New York, by providing judges and attorneys meaningful alternatives to bail, fines, and jail sentences. Operating out of Richmond County Criminal Court along with community-based offices, SIJC is a team of social service providers, court-based resource coordinators, mental health practitioners, compliance specialists, and others who seek to improve the quality of justice. Supervised Release offers an alternative to jail by providing pretrial supervision, case management, and voluntary social services to people charged with misdemeanor and felony offenses, and in doing so, uses an arrest as a window of opportunity to change the direction of a participant’s life, avoiding the harmful effects of incarceration. Program participants are monitored to ensure their appearance at court dates and mandatory programming, and receive referrals to services like job training, drug treatment, and mental health counseling. SIJC is seeking a Clinician, Supervised Release Program (SRP). Reporting to the Clinical Director, the Clinician, SRP will be licensed a social worker and mental health practitioner responsible for providing therapeutically-informed support to participants. This position will leverage exemplary clinical and interpersonal skills to provide clinical support to participants enrolled in the program. Specifically, the Clinician, SRP will facilitate CBT-informed sessions for all Tier 2 participants, provide short-term counseling for any participant identified as a strong candidate for mental health support, and external referrals to therapy, as appropriate. This position provides hours towards LCSW accreditation. The Clinician, SRP will not carry a standard SRP caseload. Rather, they will work closely with the case management and specialty in-house referral teams to case conference about participants' strengths and needs and coordinate tailored support as appropriate. The Clinician, SRP will work with other SRP teams to ensure access to, completion of, and accurate data entry for CBT and other therapeutically-informed sessions to ensure these sessions count toward participants’ compliance status. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: • Responsible for facilitating CBT-informed sessions for all Tier 2 participants;, • Provide “counseling lite,” a limited counseling structure of 5-10 sessions and subsequent referrals to external therapy providers, as appropriate;, • Maintain accurate and timely data entry and case documentation aligned with the program model, court reporting obligations, and best practices;, • Responsible for consistent and effective cross-team communication and collaboration to proactively identify successes, challenges, and opportunities to strengthen programming, create opportunities for meaningful collaboration, and maximize internal and external resources and expertise;, • Responsible for ensuring participant access to, completion of, and accurate data entry for CBT and other therapeutically-informed sessions to ensure participants’ completion of these sessions counts toward their compliance status;, • Responsible for working effectively with the case management and compliance teams to ensure accurate and timely court reporting;, • Co-facilitate pro-social and psycho-educational groups for participants in collaboration with SRP Clinicians;, • Maintain professional and positive relationships with court staff, judges, and attorneys;, • Participate in individual, group supervision, and regular staff trainings to develop program expertise and related skill sets;, • Attend project events, community events, and meetings after house, as needed;, • This is a non-caseload carrying position;, • Additional relevant tasks, as necessary.Qualifications:, • A Master's degree in a mental health field and 2 years direct practice (e.g. therapeutic or case management) experience required; license is strongly preferred;, • Experience in pretrial, court-based, or criminal legal system strongly preferred;, • Experience in SRP preferred but not required;, • Must be detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills;, • Must be able to work effectively independently and as part of a highly interdependent, multi-disciplinary team within a fast-paced and dynamic work environment;, • Professional demeanor and ability to work collaboratively and effectively with a variety of program stakeholders, including judges, prosecutors, defense attorneys, court staff, and site partner agencies; Position Location: Staten Island, NY Compensation: The compensation range for this position is $58,500 - $73,500 and is commensurate with experience.
