Job Description Job Title: Lead Maintenance Technician Job Description This role combines hands-on maintenance work with planning and coordination responsibilities. The Lead Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the building and manufacturing equipment, developing and carrying out preventive maintenance schedules, and coordinating repairs with outside service providers when needed. This position also includes responsibility for hazardous waste handling and disposal and may involve providing day-to-day guidance to another maintenance technician. Responsibilities • Handle basic building repairs such as lighting, plumbing, ventilation, and general upkeep., • Call and work with outside repair companies when needed., • Ensure contracted work is done safely and correctly., • Perform basic maintenance and small repairs on equipment such as autoclaves, presses, air compressors, vacuum pumps, and other machine shop equipment., • Contact external repairpersons as needed for larger repairs., • Help keep equipment running so production stays on schedule., • Plan and set up regular maintenance schedules for equipment and building systems., • Perform scheduled maintenance tasks., • Keep records of work that has been done., • Identify repeated problems and suggest better maintenance strategies., • Collect, label, store, and arrange disposal of hazardous waste according to company procedures and safety rules., • Maintain required records related to hazardous waste handling and disposal., • Follow all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements., • Guide the work of other assigned maintenance personnel., • Prioritize maintenance tasks to minimize disruption to operations., • Collaborate with supervisors and production staff to avoid disrupting operations., • May require occasional janitorial duties., • 3–5 years of maintenance experience in a factory, shop, or industrial setting., • Ability to plan maintenance work and keep basic records., • Comfortable using basic computer programs (email, simple tracking)., • Ability to lift materials, use tools, and work safely around machinery., • Good communication skills., • Computer competencies (Outlook, Word, Excel)., • Ability to work at elevated heights., • Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull 25–50 lbs frequently and up to 50 lbs occasionally., • Comfortable working on ladders or heights when needed., • Valid driver’s license., • High school diploma or GED., • Good organizational skills., • Previous lead or supervisor experience., • Experience in machine shop/composite facilities., • Electrical, mechanical, HVAC, pneumatic, or hydraulic experience. Work Environment Industrial manufacturing site with a casual dress code of t-shirts, jeans, and tennis shoes. The role requires Monday to Friday hours from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, with comfort in working overtime. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Anaheim, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $29.00 - $36.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
