Job Description Job Title: Renovation Technician / Apartment Maintenance Job Description The Renovation Technician performs full-time interior apartment renovation work, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This role focuses on completing high-quality repairs and upgrades in occupied and vacant units, using a broad range of trade skills including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, and painting. The position starts on a temporary basis with the opportunity to transition to a permanent role based on satisfactory performance. Responsibilities • Perform interior apartment renovations, including demolition, installation, and finishing work in occupied and vacant units., • Complete plumbing tasks such as installing, repairing, and troubleshooting fixtures, fittings, and basic piping issues., • Carry out electrical work, including minor wiring, fixture installation, troubleshooting, and safe repair of common electrical problems., • Execute carpentry work such as framing, trim installation, door and cabinet repairs, and general structural adjustments., • Install, repair, and finish drywall, including hanging, taping, mudding, sanding, and patching damaged areas., • Perform painting work, including surface preparation, priming, and applying finish coats to walls, ceilings, and trim., • Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for installation, repair, and renovation tasks., • Conduct appliance repair and installation as needed, ensuring proper operation and adherence to safety standards., • Diagnose and troubleshoot maintenance and renovation issues to determine efficient, long-lasting solutions., • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area within apartments, common spaces, and storage areas., • Provide courteous, professional customer service when interacting with residents, property staff, and vendors., • Document completed work and communicate status updates to supervisors or property contacts as required., • Participate in on-call rotation after hire, being available for one week at a time to respond to after-hours maintenance or repair needs. Essential Skills • Hands-on experience with interior apartment renovations or closely related residential renovation work., • Proficiency in basic plumbing tasks, including installation, repair, and troubleshooting of common fixtures and systems., • Working knowledge of electrical repair and installation, including safe troubleshooting of minor electrical issues., • Strong carpentry skills, including framing, trim work, door and cabinet repair, and general structural modifications., • Ability to install, repair, and finish drywall, including hanging, taping, mudding, sanding, and patching., • Competence in painting, including proper surface preparation, priming, and application of finish coats., • Ability to perform appliance installation and repair using appropriate tools and methods., • Skilled in using a wide range of hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently., • Troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve maintenance and renovation issues effectively., • Customer service orientation with the ability to communicate professionally and respectfully with residents and property staff., • Capability to participate in an on-call rotation after hire, being available for one week at a time. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience working in multifamily housing or apartment communities., • Comfort working independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple renovation tasks., • Ability to read and follow basic work orders, instructions, and safety guidelines., • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship., • Reliability and consistency in attendance and performance to support potential transition from temporary to permanent employment. The position requires regular use of a full set of renovation tools, including hand tools and power tools, as outlined in the Apartment Reno - Interior Tech Tool List, which the technician is expected to provide in most or all cases. The environment involves active, hands-on work, moving between units and common areas, and adhering to safety practices and guidelines while working with electrical systems, plumbing, carpentry, drywall, and painting materials. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Anaheim, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $24.00/hr.
