Inside the home we protect critical aspects of home function such as plumbing, heating and cooling, appliances, power surges, hot water heaters, and interior electrical. Outside the home we provide protection for critical lines (water, gas, wells, sewers, electric and septic). We primarily go to market B2B2C, partnering mostly with water/gas/electric utilities and municipalities to offer our product leveraging their brand for marketing and often adding our subscription fee to the water/gas/electric bill itself. Position Summary As Proposal Specialist you will have the responsibility of validating, documenting, and approving the proposed cost within the parameters of the rigorous proposal process. Using the terms and conditions, coverage limits, pricing guides, and industry knowledge for assessment. May negotiate to improve costs based on fair market value. The Proposal Specialist must be familiar with negotiation techniques, network provider price agreements, repairs methods, and industry rates. This position is based in our Chicagoland office of Naperville IL. Our office environment is a key driver of our company culture and employee experience, so a regular in-office model is required. Job Duties/Responsibilities • Authorize cost to repair (or replace) systems or appliances covered by the active enrollment, • Accurately document conversations, agreements, and actions taken with providers regarding job costs and related tasks, • Review and approve job costs for Out of Network providers and jobs with special circumstances not identified or pre-negotiated on rate sheets, • Ensure and verify accuracy of claim creation, coding, and documentation from creation to completion, • Negotiate pricing with providers when needed, • Promptly handle correspondence from providers requesting approvals for additional charges on pending service orders, • Coordinate appropriate follow-up with customers or providers to ensure issues are resolved satisfactorily, • Coordinate appropriate follow-up with customers of non-covered claims and provide effective documentation explaining the reason why, • Offer technical knowledge and expertise to other colleagues, • Stay up to date with local codes and regulations along with labor and material costs, • Promptly respond to actions generated by other team members or contractors, • Taking of provider and customer phone calls We're Excited if This is You! We offer a compelling total rewards package that includes a competitive base salary and comprehensive benefits to support your total wellbeing. The base pay for this position is $40,000-$62,500 salary. The specific pay offered will depend on qualifications, experience, education and skill set. The compensation offered may also include an annual performance-based bonus, sales incentive plan or commission target.
