Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 03/16/2026, • Duration: Ongoing, • 47.5 hours per week, • Shift: 10 hours, nights, • Employment Type: Staff Position Overview The Assistant Nurse Manager supports the operational, clinical, and administrative functions of the department while ensuring high-quality patient care, regulatory compliance, and staff engagement. This role provides leadership, staffing oversight, and direct patient care as needed while promoting a culture of safety, service excellence, and shared governance. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Operations • Assists in developing departmental goals aligned with nursing and organizational strategic plans, • Interviews, hires, evaluates, counsels, and disciplines staff in accordance with policy, • Schedules staff based on departmental needs and budgeted staffing plans, • Updates staffing budgets and monitors variances, • Conducts monthly staff meetings and maintains meeting records, • Periodically provides direct patient care as needed, • Ensures compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and patient safety standards, • Supports performance improvement initiatives and quality metrics, • Develops and implements evidence-based standards of care, policies, and procedures, • Ensures completion of orientation, competencies, and ongoing education, • Attends educational programs to maintain leadership and clinical expertise, • Adheres to nursing ethics, patient rights, and safety standards, • Delegates activities in accordance with Nurse Practice Act guidelines, • Supports Magnet and shared governance initiatives, • Current RN license, • BSN required, • BLS certification (American Heart Association) required, • ACLS preferred (may be required depending on department), • Minimum 2 years of relevant acute care experience, • Previous leadership or management experience preferred, • Strong clinical judgment and leadership ability, • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, • Working knowledge of management and staffing practicesAdditional Information, • ICU setting, • No floating required, • EPIC charting system
