Job Description We are working with a prominent, regional firm seeking a Health Care Associate with at least three years of experience to join their Uniondale, NY office. The ideal candidate will counsel and represent health care facilities and practitioners and other entities and individuals in the health care industry with respect to regulatory compliance, litigation, audits, investigations, clinical operations, and business operations matters. The candidate must have a working knowledge in the business and regulatory aspects of health care law including Stark, Anti-Kickback, HIPAA, fraud and abuse, compliance, medical staff matters and reimbursement issues. They will conduct legal research and collaborate with senior attorneys on strategy; draft memoranda, pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery documents; manage discovery, including medical records, billing, and health plan documentation; work on government (Medicare and Medicaid) and commercial payer audits and investigations; create compliance programs for health care providers, suppliers, and managed care plans; draft and revise compliance policies and procedures; analyze records and transactions related to business disputes and investigations as to potential client claims; represent clients in court, mediation, arbitration, and administrative hearings; take and defend depositions; structure, negotiate, and draft contracts and other business arrangements; and advise clients on a wide range of compliance and health regulatory matters. The candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills; a demonstrated ability to absorb, process, and understand new information rapidly; strong analytical and problem-solving skills; high level organizational skills; the ability to manage competing priorities; and the ability to function effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. New York Bar admission required.
