The social worker will play a crucial role in the initial assessment and referral process for individuals entering the court system, particularly those with mental health, substance abuse, or other behavioral health needs. THE OPPORTUNITY Staten Island Justice Center (SIJC) seeks to re-engineer the experience of criminal court in Staten Island, New York, by providing judges and attorneys meaningful alternatives to bail, fines, and jail sentences. Operating out of Richmond County Criminal Court and community-based offices, SIJC is a team of social service providers, court-based resource coordinators, mental health practitioners, compliance specialists, and others who seek to improve the quality of justice. Supervised Release offers an alternative to jail by providing pretrial supervision, case management, and voluntary social services to people charged with misdemeanor and felony offenses, and in so doing, uses an arrest as a window of opportunity to change the direction of a participant’s life, avoiding the harmful effects of incarceration. Program participants are monitored to ensure their appearance at court dates and mandatory programming, and receive referrals to services like job training, drug treatment, and mental health counseling. SIJC seeks Case Managers for the borough’s Supervised Release Program (SRP). Reporting to Supervising Case Managers, Case Managers are the front line of service delivery and key to ensuring that the program meets its mandate. Specifically, Case Managers will supervise SRP participants according to their assigned tier and level; work with participants to identify and address barriers to compliance and court attendance; conduct outreach to participants, court stakeholders, community-based service providers, and collateral contacts; connect participants to appropriate services in the community to support their stabilization, and ensure accurate and timely court reporting on participants’ compliance with program requirements. THE OPPORTUNITY Brooklyn Justice Initiatives (BJI), the largest operating project of the Center, seeks to re-engineer the experience of criminal court in Brooklyn, New York, by providing judges and attorneys meaningful alternatives to bail, fines, and jail sentences. Operating out of Kings County Criminal Court along with community-based offices, BJI is a team of social service providers, court-based resource coordinators, mental health practitioners, compliance specialists, and others who seek to improve the quality of justice. Supervised Release offers an alternative to jail by providing pretrial supervision, case management, and voluntary social services to people charged with misdemeanor and felony offenses, and in doing so, uses an arrest as a window of opportunity to change the direction of a participant’s life, avoiding the harmful effects of incarceration. Program participants are monitored to ensure their appearance at court dates and mandatory programming, and receive referrals to services like job training, drug treatment, and mental health counseling. BJI is seeking a Supervising Case Manager for the borough’s Supervised Release Program (SRP). Reporting to Case Management Coordinator, the Supervising Case Manager will be responsible for providing substantive and consistent clinically-informed task supervision to Case Managers and Senior Case Managers to ensure fidelity to the program model and quality service to participants. Supervising Case Managers ensure that staff are completing program-specific training; consistently applying policy, protocol, and best practices aligned with program-specific training; completing routine and accurate data entry and court reporting, and communicating effectively across SRP teams to ensure the program builds on successes and proactively addresses challenges. This position is responsible for completing comprehensive and routine case audits in partnership with the compliance team to ensure consistent application of policies, protocols, and best practices. This position leverages exemplary communication, data management, and supervisory skills to support Case Managers and Senior Case Managers in the execution of their responsibilities. Job Summary Responsible for liaising and working with criminal court stakeholders to assess, screen and advocate for individuals (youth and adults) to be placed in CCA’s alternative to incarceration and alternative to detention programs (ATI/ATD); develop written, client specific ATI/ATD plans and prepare written court reports detailing clients’ progress and participation in ATI/ATD programming. Job Description Provide intake, assessment and case management services to Kintock clients, which include ongoing assessment for program eligibility, monitoring all aspects of care and client services, ensuring needs of clients are met; individual counseling and psycho-educational classes may be included at discretion of the Director. Job DescriptionPassaic County Community College is seeking a Fitness Court Ambassador who will report to the Athletic Director. The Fitness Court Ambassador will be required to manage and conduct programming for the College's newly established Outdoor Fitness Court (as part of the National Fitness Campaign). This staff member will interact with students, faculty, staff and community groups to maximize the use of the court. Some evenings and weekends are required. Examples of Duties: • Assist in all operations and events scheduled for PCCC's Outdoor Fitness Court., • Collaborate with the College's Outdoor Courtyard Coordinator to spread awareness and encourage broader community engagement., • Monitor the use of PCCC's outdoor Fitness Court and ensure patron safety., • Assist in all aspects of event programming, including equipment set-up and post-event clean-up., • Demonstrate use of equipment and assist individuals with using the Fitness Court® app, • Lead fitness court workouts, clinics, and other fitness/wellness activities., • Utilize Fitness Court Best Practices including connecting with student clubs and college groups, starting a weekly fitness meetup, and organizing mini fitness challenges., • Collaborate with the College's Social Media Coordinator to post workouts and progress. ISAP is an essential part of ERO, providing intensive supervision of individuals in immigration proceedings. The program achieves positive results by combining comprehensive case management with proven supervision technology. In addition, BI maintains an extensive list of community-based partners to provide critical assistance for participants' basic life needs. With consistent positive outcomes, ISAP continues to grow and evolve, serving an ever-increasing number of participants. Responsibilities Summary: Provides case management of Intensive Supervision Appearance Program (ISAP) participants from entry to release by administering the program’s policies and procedures as defined by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) contract. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: • Develops, implements, coordinates, reviews and updates case management and individual service plans for ISAP participants in conformance with state and federal regulations and program requirements. Meets with participants face-to-face regularly as required by contractual obligations., • Develops and maintains accurate and complete case records for all ISAP participants from entry to release from ISAP. Proactively manages cases using all appropriate tools and techniques. Maintains confidentiality of all records., • Conducts intake interview and orientation session with each ISAP participant within contractual timeframes and requirements., • Installs electronic monitoring equipment on ISAP participants as necessary and monitors compliance with electronic monitoring program., • Assists ISAP participants with acquiring travel documents from the countries of citizenship. Maintains a log of travel document information for each participant., • Evaluates English proficiency of ISAP participants to determine resources necessary to promote clear communication between ISAP staff and participants., • Coordinates and facilitates translation services for ISAP participants, including emergency translation services., • Connects participants with community resources including, but not limited to, transportation, medical, food, shelter, clothing, educational, financial, legal, religious and other social adjustment or facilitative resources.
