Job DescriptionDescription: Job Summary Pearland, TX The Radiology Technologist will operate radiographic equipment to produce radiographs of the body for diagnostic purposes, as directed by the ER Physician by the Radiologist accepted protocol. The technologist will also be proficient in the positioning of the patient and the examining table to obtain optimum views of the specified area of the body requested by physician. Technologist will also practice radiation safety techniques with the ALARA principle in mind, using beam restrictive devices, patient shielding skills, and knowledge of applicable exposure factors, to maximize radiation protection to patient and staff. Responsibilities • Perform CT scans according to established protocols and procedures, ensuring high-quality images for diagnostic purposes., • Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining the process, addressing concerns, and ensuring comfort., • Administer contrast materials as needed, monitoring patients for any adverse reactions., • Collaborate with radiologists and other medical staff to discuss scan results and assist in diagnostic evaluations., • Maintain equipment functionality by performing routine checks, troubleshooting issues, and coordinating maintenance as necessary., • Adhere to safety protocols and infection control measures to ensure patient and staff safety., • Document all imaging procedures accurately in patient records., • Proven experience in medical imaging, specifically with CT scans, • Experience with mammography, PET scans, or X-Ray is a plus., • Current registration with A.R.R.T. is required., • CT License, • Current license or temporary license by the Texas Medical Board (MRT), required, • Current certification with the Texas Department of Health (CMRT) is required., • American Heart Association BLS certification is required., • Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to diagnostic imaging., • Familiarity with operating within an Operating Room environment., • Ability to perform diagnostic evaluations effectively while maintaining patient care standards., • High School Diploma or GED, • Bachelor’s Preferred, • Current registration with A.R.R.T. is required., • CT License, • Current license or temporary license by the Texas Medical Board (MRT), required, • Current certification with the Texas Department of Health (CMRT) is required., • American Heart Association BLS certification is required.

Job Description Radiology Tech - Nights - Full Time EDUCATION REQUIRED: • Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology, • Currently licensed to practice in the State of Texas (TMB), • Two (2) years’ experience in the ER preferred., • CPR / BLS Certification required., • Must be able to work in a confined area and under physical and mental stress at various times., • Certifications in area of specialty (AART, etc.), • The CT/RADIOGRAPHER performs the functions of assessing, implementing and evaluating aftercare of a patient scheduled for a procedure at ER., • The CT/RADIOGRAPHER is responsible for meeting standards of practice, all radiology/CT supplies, and radiology/CT equipment in the ER, and promoting collaboration with physicians and personnel within the ER., • Assists with the assessments, prepares patient for procedure, and reviews chart for completeness., • Ensures proper identification of the patient by checking the identification band and by confirming with patient’s verbal self-identification. If a minor, parents / guardians are to identify the minor, • Reviews patients’ charts and ensures that the required information has been obtained in order to perform radiography ordered by the physician., • Performs CT procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. Performs those duties directly involved with a variety of technical procedures applying ionizing radiation for the purpose of detecting pathology., • Assist to reduce anxiety in the care of the patient., • The CT/RADIOGRAPHER assesses the patient’s level of consciousness and determines his/her psychological state., • Follows all policies, protocols and procedures set up for the delivery of good and safe patient care., • Proper documentation of care, including supplies used and any other data required by ER policy., • Assists with performing labs, starting IV’s, obtaining vital signs, performing EKG’s, and assisting with the application of splints as deemed necessary by the physician or Nurse on duty., • Establishes and maintains a good rapport and professional relationship with fellow employees, other departments, and medical staff., • Reports to work on a regular and timely basis and complies as needed with schedule changes., • Maintains the confidentiality of patients’ information and records., • Manages potential stressful situations caused by changes in schedules., • Assesses and evaluates patient’s according to policy and procedure. Communicates with the MD regarding the patient’s abnormal findings or difficulties., • Is accountable for maintaining and improving his/her own radiology technical knowledge and skills (Radiology Technologist Competence), • Introduces self to patient and/or family members and explains procedures., • Participates in training and continuing education programs., • Develops self by seeking out new learning experiences., • Ensures that annual in services include updates in CPR, Back and Fire Safety, Universal Precautions and Code Blue.
