Job Description Job Title: Accounting Manager Location: Stockton, CA - 100% Onsite, Industry: Manufacturing Employment Type: Temporary Contract (2 - 3 months, covering LOA) Job Summary: The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing financial reporting, cost accounting, budgeting, and compliance within a manufacturing environment. This role ensures accurate financial statements, optimizes cost efficiency, and supports strategic decision-making. The Accounting Manager collaborates closely with operations, supply chain, and executive leadership to maintain financial integrity and improve processes. Key Responsibilities: Financial Reporting & Compliance: • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP., • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, tax laws, and internal controls., • Oversee financial audits, liaising with external auditors and regulatory agencies., • Manage and analyze cost structures, variances, and profitability to support pricing and cost-reduction strategies., • Oversee inventory valuation, standard costing, and physical inventory audits., • Collaborate with production teams to track and optimize material, labor, and overhead costs., • Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and financial models., • Provide detailed variance analysis and financial insights to senior management., • Identify and implement efficiencies in accounting processes and financial systems., • Ensure adherence to internal controls and financial policies to mitigate risks., • Supervise and mentor accounting staff, including accounts payable, receivable, and cost accountants., • Provide training, performance evaluations, and career development support for the team., • Foster collaboration between finance, operations, and supply chain teams to align financial goals with business strategies. Qualifications & Skills: Education & Experience: • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA preferred)., • 5+ years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment., • Strong knowledge of GAAP, cost accounting principles, and financial analysis., • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar)., • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools., • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities., • Excellent communication and leadership skills., • Ability to work cross-functionally with operations, supply chain, and senior management., • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines. Work Environment & Schedule: • Office-based role with occasional visits to manufacturing facilities., • May require extended hours during closing periods or audits. Preferred Qualifications: • Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or an MBA., • Experience in lean manufacturing or process improvement initiatives.
