Job DescriptionExceed your potential with Volt Volt is immediately hiring for an Test Technician in Milpitas, CA. We are seeking a skilled Test Technician to join our dynamic team. This role performs a variety of Testing, Trouble-shoots electronic product, components and systems to ensure production quality standards are met. Key Responsibilities: • Develops, maintains and improves all test and burn-in processes within area or responsibility., • Periodically reviews all process specifications to determine if they accurately reflect the process requirements and test techniques. Updates the specifications as required., • Ensure that test and burn-in processes are within all safety, ISO-9000 and BABT compliance., • Consistently reviews quality yields and develops corrective actions to eliminate any yield detractors, further improves the process and product reliability. Works with the Quality Engineer to determine if field/box line data indicates a need for process/product improvement., • Assists with the fabrication and development of new equipment, fixtures and test programs., • Ensures that effective preventive maintenance, calibration, diagnostics, re-qualification and daily measurement schedules are in place for each test and burn-in process., • Coordinates manufacturing, maintenance and engineering preventive maintenance activities. Ensure that scheduled preventive maintenance activities are completed according to the specified schedule., • Assists engineering and the development labs with all new product introduction and development., • Coordinates and monitors all FIMPA or product off-load activities for assigned test and burn-in processes., • Ensures that each test and burn-in process has a training/certification package for both manufacturing and maintenance. Facilitates the completion of these training/certification packages with the appropriate engineer(s) and the Resource Development Department., • Assists Industrial Engineering with all equipment moves or line re-arrangements as required., • Periodically evaluates new equipment and develops a realistic and cost-effective capitol justification for purchasing this equipment., • Drives recovery actions/repair of any test or burn-in process that is down. Coordinates recovery/repair activities with the respective maintenance, technicians, engineers, suppliers or maintenance spare parts analyzers whose area of competence is necessary to get the process back in working order., • Coordinates the development of disaster recovery plans for each test and burn-in process within the area of responsibility., • Follows Engineering test processes., • Ability to perform high-level repair, format and "build" software per unit configuration and connect hardware (cables) between multiple units and bynets., • Configures/flashes firmware on the CMIC Sub-assembly and connects twisted pair and BNC Ethernet connections between unit(s)., • Sets-up complex Disk Arrays., • Troubleshoots/debugs at multiple system levels., • Performs module verification. This is a Full-Time Temp to Hire opportunity. Available Shifts: 1st Shift: Monday - Friday 6 AM - 2.30 PM Swing Shift: Monday - Friday 2:30 PM - 11 PM Pay Rate: 1st Shift: $32.00 per hour Swing Shift: $32.00 per hour with a 10% Shift Differential Qualifications: • Previous experience as a Test Technician or similar role., • Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems., • Ability to read and interpret drawings and schematics., • Some experience with soldering and crimping techniques., • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills., • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Education/Experience: Typically requires a minimum of an Associate’s degree, military technical training or equivalent experience and training. In addition, typically requires 1 year related experience. Preferred Skills: • Demonstrates basic functional and/or process knowledge and participates in process., • Requires basic competency related to function., • Demonstrates technical skills., • Requires ability to read drawings and use measurement instruments., • Use of the following tools may be required:, • Electronic Assembly: color code, component, schematics, PCB touch-up, commercial soldering, mechanical assembly, PCB point to point wiring., • Cables: connector/ wire soldering, • Testing: oscilloscope, cable & harness testing, trouble shooting, component testing, logic analyzer, • Inspection: PCB loaded, components, cable/harness, microscope, • Mechanical & Electrical Tools: power air guns, • Office Skills: data entry, spread sheet (PC), software., • Ability to troubleshoot/debug at multiple system levels, configure /setup complex disk arrays, format and build software per unit configuration and perform module verification. Familiar with AWS operations in order to communicate with units(s). Must understand technical equipment & language (DOS, Windows, NT, Unix)., • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations., • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables., • Experience with testing equipment such as multimeters and oscilloscopes., • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles., • Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting., • Excellent hand dexterity, • Familiarity with hand and power tools, • Comfortable working with small and delicate materials, • Ability to manage time effectively to finish tasks needing completion in a timely manner, • Ability to adapt to new procedures, • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change quickly, • Ability to lift 5-25 lbs. easily and repeatedly., • Ability to use a pallet jack as needed., • Must be open to, day or swing shifts with the ability to work some days on first and some days on Swing.Qualified candidates should APPLY NOW for immediate consideration!
