Job Description Job Summary: The Estimator is responsible for reviewing project drawings, plans, and specifications to develop accurate and timely cost estimates. This role prepares detailed takeoffs using PlanSwift, evaluates raw material requirements, coordinates with Purchasing to obtain pricing, and maintains strong communication with customers throughout the estimating process. The Estimator plays a key role in ensuring competitive, accurate proposals that support successful project execution. Job Responsibilities – include the following: Project Review & Analysis • Analyze project drawings, blueprints, plans, and specifications to understand scope, materials, and requirements., • Prepare detailed project takeoffs using PlanSwift or other estimating tools., • Calculate materials, labor, equipment, and related project costs., • Develop complete and accurate estimates within required timelines., • Prepare proposals, bid documents, and supporting cost breakdowns., • Work closely with the Purchasing team to obtain vendor quotes, material costs, and lead time information., • Maintain consistent, professional communication with customers to clarify project details, gather missing information, and address questions., • Coordinate with Project Managers, Engineering, and Production to ensure estimates align with operational capabilities., • Identify ways to improve estimating accuracy and efficiency., • Keep current with market pricing trends, materials, and industry practices. Job Qualifications: • High school diploma or GED required, associate or bachelor’s degree in construction, engineering, or a related field preferred., • 2+ years of estimating experience in construction, manufacturing, fabrication, or a related industry., • Proficiency with PlanSwift (or similar takeoff/estimating software)., • Strong ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications., • Solid math, analytical, and problem-solving skills., • Strong communication and organizational abilities., • 3+ years of experience working with waterworks material. Job Skills & Competencies: • Detail-oriented with high accuracy, • Strong technical and analytical mindset, • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment, • Collaborative and team-oriented, • Customer-focused communication, • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, estimating platforms, and ERP systems, • Bilingual (Spanish and English) preferred Benefits: • Holidays – Eight (8) Days per year including New Year’s Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, the Friday after Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day. The offices close at noon on December 24th, and December 31st., • Vacation – Two (2) Weeks per year. You are eligible for use after the one-year anniversary of your hire date. Vacation or any time-off requires the approval of your supervisor., • 401K – Employees are eligible to participate after one-year of service. The company matches up to 4% of annual compensation and employee is 100% fully vested., • Health Insurance – Employee is eligible to participate in a company health insurance plan on the first of the month after 60-days of service. The employee has the option to purchase, via a payroll deduction, insurance for other members of his/her family. The current estimated cost to add a spouse only, is approximately $800.00/month. The company reserves the right to change the components of this benefit on an as-needed basis., • Flexible Spending Account – After 90 days of service you will be eligible to participate in the flexible spending program, which allows you to designate pre-tax dollars, up to $2,500 per year, for medical expenses. However, funds must be fully used in the designated period or they are lost., • Term Life Insurance – After 90 days of service and employee receives term life insurance in the amount of $30,000.
