The Rain Garden Operations Supervisor leads day-to-day delivery of rain garden maintenance and stewardship services under the New York City Department of Environmental Protection contract. This role converts contract requirements, schedules, and City standards into safe, high-quality execution, supervising maintenance crews while supporting community engagement and workforce development goals. Responsibilities • Operations & Service Delivery: Oversee daily crew deployment and on-the-ground coordination across assigned zone(s) to ensure timely, contract-compliant maintenance and operations., • Quality Control & Issue Reporting: Monitor rain garden conditions and promptly document and escalate emergencies, safety hazards, and unusual conditions—including dead, stolen, or damaged plants—to the City’s program oversight team., • Emergency & Special Response: Support 24-hour emergency readiness and coordinate rapid response to urgent issues and special directives, including securing hazards and reporting unsafe conditions., • Team Leadership & Performance: Inspect and direct maintenance crews and other staff on daily assignments, provide hands-on support, and reinforce consistent, high-quality service.
