ABOUT THE ROLE: The Hotel Night Auditor is responsible for overseeing front desk duties at a hotel or another hospitality establishment during the night shift. Their duties include helping guests check-in or check out, reviewing guest payments and other details from the day shift to ensure guests provided payment for their stay or any additional requests and acting as a point of communication for customer needs. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Greet and register guests while providing outstanding guest service during their stay and settling the guest's account upon completion of their stay, • Act as the sole guest service representative and manager on duty during night time hours, • Perform the night audit operations to ensure the maintenance of financial controls, and compliance with hotel standards, • Coordinate with other departments to ensure quality service is provided to all guests, • Run audit reports/journals, • Make corrections and adjustments and handle all computer problems that might occur throughout the shift, • Perform bookkeeping activities, such as balancing accounts and conducting nightly audits, • Record guest comments or complaints, referring customers to managers as necessary, • Assist security in emergency situations, • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets, • Answer inquiries pertaining to hotel services, guest registration, and travel directions, or make recommendations regarding shopping, dining, or entertainment, • Balance all revenue and settlement accounts nightly, maintain files and reset the system for next day operations, • High school diploma or equivalent, • Must be 18 years or older, • One year of experience in a hotel as front desk representative, • Ability to comprehend and operate all relevant aspects of the front desk computer system, • Knowledge of all rates packages and special promotions, familiar with all in house groups and be aware of closed out and restricted dates, • Answer and route phone calls and take guest messages with accuracy, • Guest service oriented, ability to multitask, detail oriented, and excellent organizational skills is required, • Ability to access and accurately input information into computer system, • Basic mathematical skills and ability to make accurate mathematical calculations using a 10-key, • Effective verbal and written communication skills, • Work varied shifts, to include weekends and holiday, • Ability to adhere to all company policies and the code of conduct, • Exemplary time and resource management including good attendance, • Professional appearance and good hygiene, • Stand or remain in a stationary position for lengthy periods of time without interruption, including standing for a majority of the shift, • Walk or move to accomplish tasks from one workstation to another, • Use hands to feel objects to perceive attributes of these objects, such as size, shape, or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips and ability to apply pressure to an object with the fingers and palmExpress or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word to convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly, • Perceive the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction or aids and ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make the discriminations in sound, • Engage in repetitive motion and substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers, • Reach with hands and/or arms in any direction, • Frequency to kneel, stoop or position oneself appropriately, • Visual acuity to determine the accuracy and thoroughness to make general observations. Ability to decipher and distinguish between colors and numbers by looking with or without vision aids, • Close and distance vision and an ability to read all forms of material with or without vision aids, • Frequently lifts/carries/moves up to 30 lbs.
