About the Role: As a Maintenance Training Manager, you will be responsible for managing an effective training program that ensures the company’s Technical Operations crewmembers are knowledgeable in Company policies and procedures, supported in their professional development, and proficient in the technical aspects of their roles. A Day in the Life: Your day will be collaborative and impact-driven, focused on building, maintaining, and advancing a high-quality maintenance training program that supports safety, compliance, and professional excellence across Technical Operations. Typical responsibilities include: • Instructor Development & Quality Assurance: Manage and develop maintenance training instructors, ensuring the quality of instruction aligns with JSX and JSX Technical Operations values, standards, and mission., • Hiring & Screening Support: Advise the VP of Technical Operations, Director of Maintenance, and Continuous Improvement teams on both technical and soft-skill competencies used in the screening and selection of new hires., • Training Leadership & Advocacy: Serve as a subject matter expert and primary liaison between trainees and company leadership, addressing training-related needs, concerns, and opportunities for improvement., • Training Program Design & Delivery: Develop, plan, deliver, present, evaluate, and test required maintenance training courses in accordance with FAA guidance and company policy., • Courseware Management: Originate, analyze, update, and maintain training courseware to ensure accuracy, relevance, and alignment with operational and regulatory requirements., • Regulatory Compliance: Identify and initiate training requirements based on applicable regulations, including but not limited to 14 CFR Parts 23, 25, 35, 43, 65, 91, 121, 135, and 145., • Performance Tracking & Reporting: Ensure training reports are delivered monthly and oversee remediation of trainee performance in accordance with the company maintenance training program., • Curriculum Development: Conceive, develop, and implement new training content based on end-user feedback, maintenance standards, performance data, student needs, and curriculum alignment., • External & Regulatory Liaison: Act as the primary liaison with government oversight agencies and external training vendors for all maintenance training–related matters., • Policy Communication: Remain current on changes to company policies and guidelines and ensure timely communication and distribution through the Training Department company-wide., • Recurrent Training Oversight: Ensure all required recurrent training is completed in accordance with the approved training program., • Training Records Management: Maintain accurate, complete, and compliant training records., • Additional Responsibilities: Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned. We’re looking for someone who is: • Adaptable: Thrives in dynamic environments, adjusting quickly to changing priorities, regulatory updates, and operational needs., • Collaborative: Works seamlessly across departments, fostering teamwork between Maintenance, Training, Continuous Improvement, and leadership teams., • Communicative: Shares information clearly and confidently with instructors, trainees, leadership, and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective training delivery., • Detail-Oriented: Maintains precision in training content, records, and regulatory compliance to ensure safety and operational excellence., • Proactive: Anticipates training gaps or regulatory changes, taking initiative to implement solutions after issues arise., • High School Diploma, • 2 years of combined experience in Aviation Training, to include developing and administering, • 3 years air carrier M&E or MRO in the areas of Maintenance Planning & Scheduling, Production Control, Maintenance Production, Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Material Control, Material Planning, Reliability, Maintenance Programs, or Technical Writing., • Experience in the use of maintenance reference materials including Manufacturer's Maintenance Manuals, Structural Repair Manuals, Illustrated Parts Catalogs, Component Manuals, etc., • A.S. or B.S. Degree in aviation technology/aircraft maintenance or equivalent., • 3+ years of previous classroom instructor experience desired, • A current and valid Driver’s license is required., • A Current and valid Airframe and Powerplant Certificate is required., • Capable of interpreting drawings, blueprints, service bulletins, AD's and any other related documents required, • Must be able to travel to other locations to perform training, • Public speaking and teaching, • Computer skills to include PowerPoint, Excel, and on-line video meeting, • Intermittent physical activity, including bending, reaching, and prolonged periods of sitting, • Able to work indoors and outdoors, • Must be willing to work shifts, weekends and holidays if required. Compensation is $90,000 - $105,000 annually.
