Job Description The Nurse serves as an integral member of the multidisciplinary clinical team. The Nurse provides high quality nursing care via holistic nursing care model through direct patient care, nurse case management, clinical lab processing, supporting daily clinical operations as well as administrative tasks. Duties and Responsibilities: Clinical • Provides direct patient care for children and adults., • Provides health education within the scope of an LPN or RN., • Provides nurse case management per request and supervision of medical provider., • Performs venipuncture/phlebotomy and capillary specimen collection., • Administers point-of-care testing including HIV Tests, Flu and COVID tests, Strep tests, urinalysis dipstick, HCG tests, etc., • Obtains vital signs and anthropometric measurements., • Administers and reads PPD Tests (TB skin tests)., • Performs visual acuity tests., • Performs audiometry and OAE hearing screening tests., • Administers injections including vaccines and medications., • Enters clinical documentation into the electronic health record., • Serves as a Student Preceptor for the organization's Interprofessional Education Program., • Processes lab samples (urine, blood, swabs, PAP smears, etc)., • Processing lab results under supervision of medical provider., • Maintains active state licensure., • Completes “Nurse visits” independently., • Adheres to established clinical guidelines., • Attends program and organizational staff meetings., • Reviews and acknowledges staff meeting notes & completing follow-up items., • Processes referrals and medical records requests., • Maintains active BLS certification., • Participates in continuing education activities and other professional development activities., • Transcribes immunization records., • Participates in continuing education., • Coordinates assigned clinical championship (medication assistance program, VFC program, lab program, etc.)., • Reviews charts., • Participates in front desk check-in and check-out procedures on an as needed basis.
