Job Description BIM Supportive Living is seeking dedicated care staff to provide defined, non-skilled care services under the supervision of the administrator. This role supports clients who are physically disabled, mentally alert, or mentally challenged, helping them live independently in their homes. Care staff are compassionate, dependable leaders who support the clients everyday need. Direct Support Professionals take care of people suffering from disabilities by providing direct support services and encouraging the clients to lead an independent life and to stay integrated within their communities. Duties/Responsibilities: • Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs): bathing, dressing, grooming, • Provide companionship and emotional support, • Assist with administration of medications and monitor for changes in condition, • Offer mobility support and assistance with personal hygiene, • Support feeding and basic nutrition routines, • Provide supervision and ensure client safety and well-being, • Observe, document, and report changes in client behavior, health, or environment, • Complete accurate daily notes and documentation as required by agency standards, • Perform light housekeeping tasks (e.g., tidying, laundry, basic cleaning), • Prepare simple meals and assist with feeding, when necessary, • Maintain a safe and organized living environment, • Prior experience in caregiving, direct care, or personal attendant work, • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a compassionate demeanor, • Ability to assist with lifting, mobility, hygiene, and ADLs, • Comfortable working irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, • Basic understanding of emergency protocols and First Aid/BLS certification, • Detail-oriented and observant in reporting changes in client behavior or health, • High school diploma or GED required; additional certification or coursework in caregiving preferred., • Relevant training or certifications in Direct Care Working (e.g., Home Health Aide, Certified Nursing Assistant)., • Must be 18 years of age or older Physical Requirements: • Ability to handle physical aspects of job, including bending, stooping, lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching, and walking for periods of time, • Visual and hearing capacities functioning at a level sufficient enough to provide for managing the care of consumers to ensure both physical and behavioral needs are met, • Very good physical condition and endurance BIM participates in an Alternative Workweek Schedule (AWS), allowing eligible employees to work approved 3x12 or 4x10 schedules without daily overtime, in accordance with California Labor Code Section 511 • 8-,10-,12-hr shift, • Day shift, • Night shift, • Overnight shift, • Weekend and Holiday availability Compensation & Benefits: This is a non-exempt hourly position eligible for overtime: • Overtime applies after 8 hours/day or 40 hours/week for general employees, • For qualified personal attendants, overtime applies after 9 hours/day or 45 hours/week, • 401(k), • Dental insurance, • Health insurance, • Vision insuranceCompany DescriptionBIM Supportive Living is a California-based supportive living services provider dedicated to empowering adults with developmental disabilities to live safely and independently in their own homes.
