Job Description Senior Manufacturing Engineer Tucson, AZ Engineering – Manufacturing Engineering Full-Time | On-Site If you’re the kind of engineer who doesn’t just improve manufacturing systems — you build them — this role is for you. We’re looking for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer who can design, stand up, and optimize advanced manufacturing systems across electrical, mechanical, soft goods fabrication, assembly, system integration, validation, and refurbishment. This is not a maintenance role. It’s a system-building role. You’ll serve as a key voice for manufacturing and supply chain inside the Integrated Product Team, influencing next-generation platform development from early design through scaled production. What You’ll Be Responsible For Manufacturing System Development • Design, implement, and maintain scalable manufacturing systems, • Stand up new automated assembly lines from concept through production, • Optimize workflow, ergonomics, equipment layout, and facility utilization, • Develop and support machine control systems and PLC programming, • Drive manufacturing automation initiatives across production lines, • Troubleshoot and improve equipment performance, • Participate in engineering design reviews to ensure manufacturability, • Review and approve drawings prior to release, • Partner with Quality to develop test methods, process validations, and QA studies, • Monitor production methods and ensure alignment with product requirements, • Analyze production flow, cost drivers, labor efficiency, and material utilization, • Generate reports on process performance, trends, and future capacity needs, • Create and oversee training and work instructions for new processes, • Provide resource, schedule, and budget input, • Reinforce compliance with company policies and government regulations, • Act as a technical leader in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment Required Qualifications • BS/BA in Engineering or related technical field, • 10+ years of manufacturing, design, or test engineering experience, • Experience with resource planning, schedule management, budget oversight, and supplier coordination, • Minimum 3 years of manufacturing automation experience, • PLC programming and machine control design experience (required), • 3D CAD modeling skills (SolidWorks preferred), • Proven experience planning and launching automated assembly lines, • Strong communication skills and ability to influence cross-functional teams, • Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, evolving environments Highly Desired Experience • Advanced engineering degree, • Automation in textile or plastics manufacturing, • Soft goods fabrication, patterning, and thermoplastic heat-sealing methods, • Power subsystems and converter design, • Solar or lithium battery charger design, • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, DMAIC expertise, • Procedure and work instruction development, • AutoCAD experience What Success Looks Like • New automated lines launched on schedule and within budget, • Production throughput increases without sacrificing quality, • Engineering releases are manufacturing-ready the first time, • Automation reduces labor cost while improving repeatability, • Cross-functional teams view manufacturing as a strategic driver — not an afterthought
