Job DescriptionDescription: POSITION SUMMARY This position is responsible for leading SOLON’s business development and sales efforts targeting businesses, institutions, and government entities located in the Southwest United States. The designated territory includes, but is not limited to, Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada, Colorado, and Texas. RESPONSIBILITIES • Generate new business opportunities by identifying and evaluating prospective clients., • Develop and qualify leads to drive additional sales through cold-calling, networking, industry events, digital outreach, reviewing RFPs, and leveraging other lead generation channels., • Collaborate with SOLON’s Sales Analyst and Marketing teams to:, • Analyze customer electricity usage history and utility details., • Build client proposals and presentations aligned with customer goals, product offerings, and project specifications., • Strategize and prioritize market segments to guide SOLON’s marketing and business development focus., • Maintain and grow a pipeline of potential sales opportunities using SOLON’s CRM system., • Work with and expand SOLON’s existing developer network to identify and pursue third-party developed projects., • Attend client site visits to evaluate project viability based on physical site conditions., • Finalize pricing proposals in alignment with customer requirements and company objectives., • Master and communicate SOLON’s value proposition and competitive advantages to potential clients., • Negotiate and finalize complex contracts, including Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) agreements, and Lease agreements., • Attend client board meetings as needed to support the finalization of sales agreements., • Coordinate with engineering and construction teams to ensure a seamless transition from sales to installation., • Follow up with customers after the sale and upon completion of construction to ensure satisfaction and identify future opportunities., • Achieve sales targets and objectives as outlined in the annual sales plan., • Participate in weekly business development strategy meetings with analysts, marketing, and executive leadership., • Maintain professional and technical knowledge of solar and energy storage systems by attending educational workshops, reviewing industry publications, building networks, and engaging in continuing education. Experience • Minimum of 3 years of successful experience in commercial and industrial (C&I) or utility-scale solar sales, or comparable technical sales within the solar industry., • Proven ability to sell to high-level decision-makers., • Strong track record in full-cycle business development and lead generation., • Demonstrated success in building and managing a customer base and robust sales pipeline., • Strong relationship-building skills, especially with key decision-makers., • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities., • Advanced analytical skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel and other relevant analytical tools., • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail. This position involves working primarily in a climate-controlled office environment but also requires extensive travel. Travel may include visits to client sites, industry events, or other business-related locations and may expose the employee to varying weather and site conditions.
