Job DescriptionSalary: $55,500 to $65,000/yr DOE Hybrid SPED IEP Writer - Tucson Campus (K-2nd & 6th - 12th Grade) Although this is a hybrid position, candidates must reside in Arizona and be able to come onsite to our Tucson Campus 3 days a week in person. Under the supervision and direction of the Tucson Campus Director, the IEP Writer will write IEPs, input classroom IEP goal data into the IEPS, and provide written notice to ensure compliance with special education regulations. Candidates must be experienced in the correct design, implementation, and oversight of research-based educational strategies for students with disabilities, and ABA teaching strategies, and have significant experience conducting these activities within school settings. The IEP Writer will work hand-in-hand with school leadership to promote a positive school culture that focuses on implementing a best practices education model to achieve optimal results for students on the autism spectrum. Duties: • Facilitate and schedule IEP meetings for students on caseload, • Input IEP data monthly into student digital portfolios for students on caseload, • Observe and interact with students in the virtual classrooms to ensure IEPs are aligned to specific student needs, • Consult with classroom teams on student goals and student PLAAFP, • Complete all relevant special education paperwork for IEP team meetings, • Ensure the involvement of parents in the special education process and provide basic explanations of parental rights and procedural safeguards, and responsibilities under IDEA, • Maintains knowledge of special education teaching methods, research, and best practices through professional development and study, • Maintain a high degree of confidentiality, • Meet IEP and district deadlines to ensure compliance, • Participate in all duties and responsibilities as appropriate for an AZACS faculty member, • Collect, analyze, and report data in a meaningful manner, • Celebrates the achievements and successes of students, • Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this position., • Performs other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications: • 3 - 5 years teaching special education, • Valid Special Education Arizona Teaching Certification required, • Experience and training in Applied Behavior Analysis(ABA) preferred, • Experience in structured teaching, center-based model preferred, • A valid Arizona IVP fingerprint clearance card is required, • Bachelors Degree or higher Benefits: • A school located at a new state-of-the-art Autism Center, • Competitive pay based on experience, • Eligible to participate in benefits including medical, dental, vision, short-term disability, critical care, hospitalization, scheduled accident coverage, voluntary supplemental life, and pet insurance, • Tuition reimbursement after 6 months of employment, • Paid Time Off (80 hours), Paid Federal Holidays, and Paid fall, winter, and spring breaks, • Group Life Insurance and Employee Assistance Program, • 401K with a company match, • Great professional development and advancement opportunities Supervisory Responsibilities: • NONE ADA AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Positions in this class require: stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.
