Job DescriptionJOB SUMMARY The Family Recovery Support, under the direction of the Recovery House Manager, is responsible for monitoring the residential center to ensure the safety and well-being of residents, staff and visitors. This individual works directly with residents in early recovery, providing structure and support to residents seeking to establish long-term recovery from a substance use disorder. This individual will confirm residents, staff and visitors sign in and out of the facility, ensuring compliance with program policies and procedures. This individual will search residents and visitors per program policies and procedures. This individual will complete additional duties including laundry, light cleaning, organizing, and other tasks as assigned. This position may transport residents in agency vehicle, if approved driver status is obtained. As the residential center opens, the Family Recovery Support must be flexible and support the team in successful launch and scaling of services. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Support the Assistant Vice President of Integrated & Behavioral Health in the successful design and implementation of programming across American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) residential levels of care (3.5, 3.3, and 3.1) and aftercare peer support services., • Work directly with residents in early recovery, providing structure and support to residents seeking to establish long-term recovery from a substance use disorder., • Ensure residents, staff and visitors sign in and out of building in and are searched in compliance with program policy and procedures., • Ensure resident egress from facility with approved passes., • Ensure resident access to phones, mail, packages and visitors with approved passes., • Address all incoming phone calls in compliance with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 requirements. Record accurate and detailed messages. Facilitate communication of messages to appropriate staff., • Track completion of resident chores. Address resident concerns promptly as needed., • Wash, dry and stow linens., • Ensure cleanliness and organization of support stations., • Responsible for ensuring that all policies, procedures and practices of VOASELA are met., • Ensure VOASELA and program staff create and maintain a recovery-oriented environment based on the principles of Therapeutic Communities., • Provides support to all program activities, including Child Watch., • Adhere to the designated dress code as stipulated for the specific role. This position requires knowledge, skills and abilities equivalent to: • High school diploma or equivalent., • (Preferred) Lived experience with a substance use disorder diagnosis with at least 12 months (24-36 months or more preferred) of continuous demonstrated recovery. Registered Peer Support Specialist credential preferred., • At least 1 years of experience working with women experiencing substance use disorders., • Excellent verbal and written communication skills., • Novice computer skills., • Ability to interact with staff at all levels in a respectful manner, remaining flexible, proactive, and task oriented., • Problem-solving ability, attention to detail, accuracy, flexibility, reliability, and prioritizing skills., • Must be able to maintain confidentiality per HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2., • Must be able to pass a criminal history investigation (not all convictions will exclude candidates from being hired)., • Must pass drug screening tests as required by agency’s policies and procedures., • Must complete tuberculosis (TB) screening prior to employment and be free from Tuberculosis (TB) in a communicable state via skin testing (or chest exam if recommended by physician)., • Must be able to maintain First Aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and seizure assessment training., • This position provides services in office., • This position is responsible for enactment of the agency and program’s Emergency Operations Plan during emergencies, such as hurricanes or inclement weather, which may require evacuation and/or shelter in place with persons served and staff. The Family Recovery Support schedule is rotational. Overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts are required. This position may require the incumbent to engage in occasional local travel in and around the community appropriate to the performance of duties and responsibilities. As such, incumbent must have: • Current driver’s license issued by state of residence, • Current Vehicle Inspection decal, • Current vehicle insurance, • Current vehicle registration in state of residence Work is primarily performed in an office environment while seated at a desk. Dexterity is used while performing work with personal computer keyboard, calculator and other office equipment. Driving to local (occasionally).
