Job DescriptionSalary: $56,420.00 - $64,899.63 This position is for the 2026-27 school year. Under the direction of the school administrator, teach and instruct students in academic, social, behavioral, and manipulative skills or other related skill areas. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Toperform this job successfully, anindividualmust be abletoperformeach essential function satisfactorily.Essentialfunctions include but are notlimitedto the following: • Plan, develop, organize, and conduct a comprehensive education program for students, • Utilize and adopt course of study, program instruction guidelines, and other materials in developing lesson planning, and teaching outlines, • Pursue a variety of methodology in teaching and instructing students, including instruction, demonstration, lecture, activity participation, and using specialized educational equipment, materials, and aids, • Teach and instruct students in citizenship and other subject matter specified by legal mandates, school policies and regulations, • Prepare, develop and utilize a variety of instructional materials appropriate for the instructional level of students within a wide range of mental, physical, and emotional maturity, • Review, analyze, and evaluate the history, background, and assessment of students in designing an education program to meet specific individual educational needs, • Provide individual and group instruction designed to enhance the students mental, social, and emotional growth, • Establish and maintain appropriate standards of student behavior, utilizing a variety of behavior management strategies and techniques, including behavior modification, reinforcement and other positive behavior shaping processes, • Review, analyze, and evaluate academic and social growth, and record appropriate analyses and perceptions, • Participate in regular parent meetings, including 504s, IEPs, Parent Teacher Conferences, behavior meetings, etc., • Participate in ongoing professional development and learning activities, including weekly professional development meetings, • Prepare progress reports to parents and others concerning students academic and social growth, • Prepare, administer, score, and record results of a variety of criterion referenced and/or standardized tests in evaluating students progress, • Support team goals as developed in the PLC. Work collaboratively with grade level and content teams toward highly rigorous expectations for students, • Counsel, confer, and communicate with parents, regarding students progress, and to interpret the educational program, • Assist and cooperate with school personnel in assessing students needs, in the development of alternative solutions to individual educational planning, and in the adapting of curriculum offerings to meet individual educational needs, • Plan, create, and maintain an effective learning environment through the utilization of functional and aesthetically attractive displays, exhibits, bulletin boards, interest, learning, and activity centers, • Select and requisition appropriate educational supplies, materials, books, equipment, and learning aids, • Establish and maintain a suitable room environment through the proper control of heating, lighting, and ventilation, • Perform non-instructional duties, including curriculum and instruction development, student supervision, and advisory and consultation activities, • Participate in and help plan Middle School social events, including field trips, dances, sports tournaments, and clubs.~ Facilitate and attend PBL Presentations, Student and Parent Orientations, Back To School Night, Expo Night, Film Festival, • Facilitate and attend field trips, including grade level overnight(s) and after-school student social(s) events (minimum of one), • Facilitate PBL, electives, and one middle school-specific project (which may include yearbook, student council, Advisory program, field trip planning, PBL planning, etc.) as included in the school day, • Conduct a variety of learning experiences to effectively utilize time available for instruction, • Hold student office hours during the workday., • Other duties as assigned, including but not limited to; student supervision, subbing, attending grade-level events, attending field trips (including overnight) EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: • Possession of a Baccalaureate or higher degree with emphasis in middle school education, instructional technology, a subject matter field commonly taught in the secondary grades, or closely related field areas, • Prior experience with project-based learning activities; Prior training and experiences with Social Emotional Learning (SEL) REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS • Possession of a California credential authorizing service as a teacher forScience and/or grade level that is relevant for the job being applied for., • Successful completion of student teaching at a recognized college or university or one year of regular full time secondary classroom teaching experience, • Must pass fingerprint clearance and TB test, • Must complete required training upon hire:CPR, First Aid, Mandated Reporter, and Sexual Harassment., • Copy of Transcript, • English Learner Authorization OR Cross-cultural, Language and Academic Development Certificate, • Letter(s) of Recommendation (Three Letters of Recommendation) KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: • Principles, theories, methods, techniques, and strategies pertaining to teaching and instruction of middle school grade pupils, • Child growth and development and behavior characteristics of the middle school grade child, • Educational curriculum and instructional goals and objectives, and the educational trends and research findings pertaining to childhood educational programming, • Active listening, • Communication & Collaboration, • Adaptability &Creativity, • Time management, • Computer literacy, • Conflict resolution, • Classroom management, • Plan, organize, develop, and conduct a comprehensive teaching and instruction program for students, • Provide effective learning experiences for pupils from a wide range of socio-economic and cultural backgrounds and with varying mental, social, and emotional levels, • Effectively assess the educational needs of pupils, and design, develop, and implement sound individualized educational plans, • Provide an attractive, inviting, and stimulating learning environment, • Perform research and development activities pertaining to curriculum and instruction programs, pilot projects, and innovative programs designed to enhance student educational opportunities and experiences, • Comply with the schools customer service standards, as outlined in Board Policy WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The physicalrequirementsdescribedherearerepresentativeof those that must be met byanemployeetosuccessfully performtheessential functions of thisjob. • Regularlyrequiredtosit, stand,twist,turn,bend,walk,talk, hear, andreachwithhands, • Regularlyrequiredto operate a computer andotheroffice equipment, • Regularly requiredtoseeand observestudents,walk and/orstand for extendedperiodsoftime,andhearandspeakto exchange information, • Regularly required to possessdexterity ofhandandfingers,kneel,bendatthe waist,sitonthe floor, climb stairs and reach overhead, above the shoulders and horizontally to perform assigned duties;
