We are seeking a compassionate, creative, and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team for a Paternity Leave coverage. This role is perfect for an educator who thrives in a collaborative environment and wants to empower students with diverse learning needs. The time frame for this position is from December through mid-February. As a Special Education Teacher at The Calais School, you will: • Design and adapt engaging lessons to meet the needs of students with mild to moderate learning, emotional, and behavioral disabilities., • Provide instruction in whole-class, small-group, and individualized settings., • Assess student abilities, strengths, and areas for growth, using data to guide instruction., • Collaborate with colleagues, families, and support staff to ensure each student’s success., • Foster a classroom environment that promotes respect, inclusivity, and positive behavior., • Support students in developing both academic and life skills that prepare them for success beyond the classroom., • Communicate regularly with families to celebrate progress and provide meaningful updates.
