Job Description Join Our REAL Food Mission! Snack/Cold Cook | Location: Denver, CO 80230 Hourly Pay: $20-$20.50 per hour| Full-Time/Part-Time Schedule: Friday-Monday, 7:30am-3:00pm (and willing to pick up an extra shift as-needed) Job Summary Are you someone who finds joy in creating delicious moments and believes that kindness belongs in every kitchen? We’re looking for a Snack/Cold Cook who brings not only culinary skill but also warmth, positivity, and a genuine love for serving others. In this role, you’ll prepare fresh, flavorful snacks and cold dishes with precision and pride—always keeping food safety and HACCP standards top of mind. You’ll follow recipes with care, manage your time thoughtfully, and contribute to a kitchen culture built on respect, collaboration, and compassion. The right candidate will also be willing to help with dishwashing and cleaning in addition to regular prep work and baking. What You'll Do • Serve meals and/or snacks by reviewing assigned tally sheets, snack lists, recipes and portion guides; measuring, assembling, and combining ingredients; and maintaining a sanitary station in accordance with standard food safety procedures., • Attend to the detail and presentation of prepared snacks or cold item according to diet restrictions, allergies, and prescribed meal plans., • Prepare ingredients by following recipes; slicing, cutting, chopping, mincing, stirring, whipping, and mixing ingredients; verifying taste; and plating., • Complete snacks/or cold menu items as assigned per day, with the highest quality and presentation in mind., • Adhere to proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures; maintain temperature and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) logs as required; and maintain appropriate dating, labeling, and rotation of all food items., • Store leftovers according to established standards., • have a clear understanding of weights and measures, with the ability to compute recipe conversions if needed., • Assist with receiving and storage of deliveries following FIFO procedure., • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of equipment, food storage, and work areas throughout the workday., • Complete cleaning according to daily and weekly schedules and dishwashing/pot washing as needed., • Complete daily check-out list and reviews with Supervisor after leaving for day., • Work well under pressure in a fast-paced, high stress environment., • Work as part of the team., • Listen to client complaints and suggestions and resolve complaints professionally within scope of expertise., • Implement suggestions within parameter of position and refer more complex concerns to supervisor., • Participate in and contribute to kitchen huddles and in-services., • Follow all hospital and departmental policies and procedures as directed., • Follow directions of the Department Managers, Supervisors, and Leads., • Perform other duties as assigned by Department Leaders. What You Will Bring • High School Diploma/GED, • Minimum two (2) years of hospital, institutional, or restaurant cooking experience to include food preparation, • Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in safe and effective operation of standard foodservice equipment, • Adaptability, • Strong customer service and oral communication skills, • Strong planning, problem solving, and teamwork skills, • High energy levels and self-motivation, • Multi-tasking abilities, • The ability to work mornings, evenings, holidays, weekends as needed, • ServSafe® Certification and State Food Handlers Card, • Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screen Physical and Sensory Requirements • This job involves regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and a kitchen environment with fumes, airborne particles, and moderate noise. Employees must have the physical stamina to stand for long periods, lift trays, and perform repetitive tasks.
