Job DescriptionSalary: $DOE BW Industrial Construction is seeking a Construction Department Manager for the Houston, TX area with flexibility to travel as project needs require. This senior leadership role is responsible for overseeing all postaward construction operations and driving execution across complex industrial projects, with a strong emphasis on MEP systems. The Construction Department Manager will lead work sequencing, interpret plans and specifications, coordinate internal teams and subcontractors, and ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget. The role plays a critical part in shaping BWs construction operations, field culture, and longterm growth strategy. The successful candidate will bring seniorlevel experience from a large industrial general contracting environment and the ability to apply best practices from complex organizations while operating effectively in an entrepreneurial, fastgrowing firm. This leader will build, mentor, and scale a highperforming field and project management organization while contributing to BW Industrial Constructions expanding market presence in Texas and select outofstate markets. This position requires proven leadership across diverse industrial construction project teams, strong commercial and organizational acumen, and the ability to leverage established relationships with owners, subcontractors, and suppliers to strengthen execution and support continued business growth. Key Responsibilities • Provide senior oversight of the full lifecycle of construction operations from mobilization through closeout for industrial construction projects, ensuring compliance with contract requirements, schedules, budgets, and quality standards., • Provide leadership and direction to Project Managers responsible for execution of complex industrial and MEP projects, ensuring effective coordination across trades and seamless system integration., • Establish and oversee standards for project planning, including scheduling, manpower strategies, subcontractor oversight, resource allocation, and change order management., • Build, scale, and structure the construction organization to support current workload and longterm growth, including recruiting, onboarding, mentoring, and succession planning for field and project leadership., • Set performance expectations and provide mentorship to project, field, and support leadership; conduct reviews and support ongoing professional development., • Review and approve project budgets, schedules, contracts, and major scope changes to ensure constructability, commercial alignment, and financial performance., • Lead or support contract negotiations with owners, subcontractors, and suppliers, including pricing, scope definition, risk allocation, and overall commercial strategy., • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, OSHA safety standards, and company quality requirements across all projects., • Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders to resolve escalated issues related to schedule, cost, quality, labor, or procurement., • Conduct periodic site visits and executive project reviews to assess progress, safety, quality, and overall execution., • Oversee project reporting and operational metrics, including schedules, cost reports, forecasts, and risk assessments; provide clear, timely updates to senior leadership., • Drive continuous improvement in construction processes, safety programs, and operational efficiency through consistent standards and best practices., • Leverage an established network of owners, subcontractors, suppliers, and industry partners to support project staffing, competitive execution, and market growth., • Support business development initiatives by maintaining key client relationships and contributing to new project pursuits in Texas and targeted outofstate markets. Qualifications • Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related technical discipline preferred; equivalent combination of education and extensive industry experience will be considered., • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred, particularly for candidates with an engineering background and demonstrated involvement in complex industrial or MEPdriven projects., • Minimum of 10+ years of progressive construction management experience, including 5+ years leading complex industrial projects with deep expertise in MEP systems, commissioning, and field execution. gained in a senior-level role at a large general contractor or industrial manufacturing organization., • Demonstrated experience working within large industrial general contracting organizations, with exposure to complex organizational structures, multidiscipline coordination, and largescale project delivery., • Extensive handson industrial construction experience with a proven track record overseeing complex MEP installations, multitrade coordination, and system integration on highvalue projects., • Minimum of 3 years serving as a Project Manager at a large engineering or construction firm, with full responsibility for project delivery, client communication, cost control, and schedule performance., • Advanced understanding of construction operations, including critical path scheduling, cost management, contract administration, change management, and risk mitigation., • Proven ability to negotiate owner contracts, subcontract agreements, and supplier terms, with a strong grasp of commercial strategy, risk allocation, and contract performance., • Expert ability to interpret and validate drawings, plans, specifications, and electrical/mechanical schematics for constructability and scope alignment., • Proficiency in industrystandard construction tools and software, including Procore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, MS Project, and AutoCAD (preferred)., • Demonstrated leadership building, scaling, and managing multidisciplinary construction teams across multiple concurrent industrial construction projects, including multimilliondollar scopes., • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and problemsolving skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and drive project outcomes., • Established relationships with industrial clients, subcontractors, and suppliers, with the ability to contribute to securing new work in Texas and other strategic markets., • Valid and current Texas drivers license and willingness to support project needs across the Greater Houston area and potentially statewide or multistate., • Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
